MOS guidance for snowfall from the GFS.

A blend is kind of Leon with undertones of Wilton Felder in there.

It's been inches of dendrites 500' up and 3:1 by the time they hit the ground.

But kind of awesome to get that low vis heavy snow and 8-11" out of it region wide. Good base snow.

My method is simple and works well. Go with 10:1 this far out...I mean that is why you have a range, correct? Once you get closer and can figure out where the cross hair sig lies, then you can get cute with amounts. If you are sure your area is better than 10:1..maybe you can do like 14:1 this far out...but not worth getting cute.

Man a little sharper on the Canadian and we'd be demolished.

GFS would be a nice region wide event. Probably a great band signal near NYC-LWM or so either side of that, and decent QPF to the SE.

Canadian is slower to advect the cold in it seems too. But yeah agree.

Canadian is amped. Hopefully that is the western goalpost. Many would love the gfs.

It doesn't have to be sharp, but when you have a vort just sort of going with the flow, you aren't going to get the processes going downwind of it to generate precip.

NAM has a shit rounded vort. Not a nice V-shaped concise vort to get forcing going.

I think it's probably more after the 23rd.

BTW, compare H5 at hr 144 on the euro to what it showed at 12z at like hr 162 yesterday. That is a massive change. Still think it whiffs, but I'd watch.

You get more of the CCB as the low develops.
