  1. Pretty much on schedule. Couple 3 hrs.
  2. Euro did a great job with surface temps here in Ct. Limited ice to NW CT and very tops of some hills.
  3. Wet bulb would yield 36 degrees
  4. Bufkit has an inch of FRZRN from NAM and GFS in ORH
  5. Wouldn't you want clear sky until 8 or so, you would radiate
  6. Point being doubt they figure in wind speed
  7. The wind speed component is a factor. As Ryan as pointed out wind increases accretion rates. Complex formulas involved but Utilities especially need all parameters to prepare. Once the occurrence of freezing rain was determined by one of the above methods, estimates of ice accretion thickness on surface objects were calculated at each model grid point using the simple ice accretion model (Jones 1998). The uniform radial ice thickness on a cylinder, accumulated over the duration of a storm, is calculated by where Req is the uniform radial ice thickness (mm), N is the number of hours of freezing precipitation, ρi is the density of ice (=0.9 g cm−3), ρ0 is the density of water (=1.0 g cm−3), P is the precipitation rate (mm h−1), V is the wind speed (m s−1), and W is the liquid water content (Wj = 0.067P0.846j
  8. Tough call in Dendrite Jeffafa land sleet versus snow. Someone right at the edge gets slammed though

  10. Hopefully not as much as forecast, you get up in the 1 inch range and it's not just power you have to worry about
  11. Wishes and dreams. 3K is pretty close, imagine when we get house by house in the future, posters here will complain when its off by .1
  12. Yea that will be an important time frame. Does the waa get so strong it sets up a wall slowing the drain or does the drain continue unimpeded. Each scenario is on the table, hence the watches are up. Interesting day tomorrow watching the surface flow and dews.
  13. Small lies to big lies, false accusations of emotions, false interpretations of posts, attempts at making up things I never said or implied, all to achieve your agenda. Tried and true method of your posting to many many members here. Accuse them of stalking you. You want to play the game we can play. It's like feeding candy to a baby
  14. Precip doesn't start until 2AM Monday in NECT.
  15. Veterans know that Kevin has called for at least 75 damaging ice storms over the years at his house. Actual number 0. Unless you count the half inch limbs that have come down. Any discussion otherwise is always met with derogatory remarks to a lot of posters. He should really relocate to the Berks Poconos or High Orh county where they get ice storms of magnitude
