    Last 45 days I am low man on the totem pole. Question is will Scooter say I inflate? 1.12, literally every rain storm was to my north or south.

    Normally though you have greater distribution not the whole regional dryness seen this year.

    It's definitely different east of the river. Normally I can't see the sky through my woods. Lot thinner due to bugs I assume but definitely not lush this year

    There are different kinds of drought. Surface soli, surface water, groundwater. Long term Palmer blend covers that. Quantifying each is muddled in that crazy drought monitor.

    Crackling lawns as you walk around. Very very tough year for farmers especially hay yields. We will pay the piper at some point. I have to say this ocean storm backing in is intriguing and half reminds me of March 18 with so much model waffling.

    Nah that's not Palmer long term. It's extremely dry on the surface but reservoir and ground water levels aren't close to historical lows. No doubt we need rain but we will survive.

    The drought monitor is mainly for farmers.

    Say the same every year. It's a vegetative dryness. I use the long term Palmer Index not that crazy drought monitor.

    Quabbin 93% full. Wachusett 89%. 350 foot wells around here. Even in Eastern Mass groundwater levels aren't crazy low. But anyways Mass sure loves its Govt oversight on private people and land.

    Yes totally true even ground water levels were lower just last year.

    It would be funny but sad times for the farmers. 1 hay cut, apples shriveled and on and on. Good year for peppers though.
