  1. The last thing we need right now is a paralyzing snow storm...
  2. No. I decided to stay with it, which was a big mistake now. I'm in the process of fixing it though. Even after this blows over, residual fear and a looming recession/depression will keep the tourism industry weak for quite awhile most likely.
  3. I was thinking about that last night after NWS Philly put out a FB post about it being the 27th anniversary of the March 93 Superstorm. Could you imagine if we had something like that to deal with right now?
  4. This, plus sports and virtually anything recreational being cancelled, has put me right back out of work for a minimum of 2 weeks and most likely longer than that. This is the time when the bus trips usually pick back up with school field trips and spring athletics, as well as general charter work for sightseeing and theater shows.
  5. I really don't want to kill your (or others) joy, but why, of late, has winter waited until spring to arrive? Summers are lasting into October now, and winters are lasting deep into March and April.
  6. Only made it to 40 here. But man, that wind! All those advisories this winter and today was the worst around these parts. Trees were roaring and wires were whistling...
  7. No joke. I think today is THE windiest day we've had all winter her in Tamaqua.
  8. My first day on the new job. It happens ALL THE TIME...
  9. ***removed by me*** Very frustrated right now, but no need to post what I did, so I self moderated myself...
  10. Three times I was ready to switch jobs/companies, and three times there was a threat of snow, until I realized the job switch wasn't right and cancelled it. As soon as I did, the snow threat went away. So here is #4 and this one is the right one. That means this threat is legit because we ALWAYS get a storm when I start a new job...
  11. Many times I wish my parents moved to Florida instead of Arizona. I love AZ, but Florida is greener and I'd be much closer, and it would be much easier, to visit my ailing mother.
  12. Apparently it made it to Tamaqua. Up for an early bird run to Philly and I have about a half inch of unexpected snow on the ground...
  13. Man, we sure are getting some crazy wind gusts right now. One just whistled through the bedroom windows like I've never heard before. I may get my strongest winds pre-front from the south tonight as opposed to tomorrow after they shift. The valley my neighborhood sits in is open to the south, and somewhat sheltered by a V shaped ridge to our north, west, and east.
  14. Pushing zero is too cold, 15-20 I'm ok with. Not that it matters, though. As Trixie would say, "weather's gonna weather"...lol
  15. From some bus drivers who posted on a Facebook page, the fires started about that time, and got worse later into the night. Not sure how they're doing, but traffic on I-80 appears to be moving well per Google Maps, so they might be out/contained.
  16. I find it interesting the "micro" pattern we've gotten into lately. Mild to start the week, then a front by Thursday and a cold Friday...
  17. The humidity was down to 10-15% on Saturday, so yes...
  18. The Delaware Water Gap along I-80 right now... (not my photo)
  19. The Delaware Water Gap along I-80 right now...
  20. 55 for the high today after a morning low of 19 here. Crazy diurnal temperature swing, thanks largely to the desert-like dry air this weekend.
