that should be swinging through my area right about now

just went out and walked around in it for the first time. Decent accumulation. I'd guess somewhere around an inch. Perfect snow to make a snowman. Really pretty out. I would have loved a nice 4-5 inch snow, but i'll take whatever this turns out to be and enjoy it in the morning with my 4 year old

Took a walk around my neighborhood. Absolutely beautiful. Lots of people out laughing and having a ball. Nothing beats snow in the South, we all turn into 8 year olds about it. Still have the childlike wonder.
Then, this summer when it’s 95, we just pour cocktails, go to the beach, cookout and wonder why the Yankees are whining/melting.
.my neighbors are out riding their lawnmower up and down the street, lol

coming down pretty good in N. Durham. Tiny tiny flakes, but a ton of them. Plenty for my 4 year old to play in tomorrow, so i'm happy. Anything that comes over the next few hours is gravy.

the guy that said its going to bust has been one of the two most pessimistic people on this board i've seen over the last few weeks. Hes constantly calling bust. Just ignore

seems accumulations are band dependent. If you got under a good band, you have solid accums. If you haven't...you're not looking at much.

road is white here in north durham. I could see getting an inch or two out of this which I should be thankful for i guess. Gonna need some heavier returns to reach that though

I grew up in Cary and it always seemed like Durham/Chapel Hill would get a few inches more than Wake. Now that I live in Orange County, it does the opposite. Haha.
dont mean to turn this into the sanitarium, so this will be my last post on it in here...but man the last decade between being in durham and stallings i've been 15 miles away from snow it feels like. Just too far south or just too far east, now just too far west. Its wild...seems i'm the bad luck charm. I just want a decent snow so my 4 year old can play in it. 2-3 inches would be good...hoping to still get that out of this one

Lurker in Chapel Hill here. Frustrated to see all the posts about snow just 30 or so miles east. Should I have hope? I know we’ll get something but feels like we’re gonna miss out on the bigger totals by a slim margin.
join the club! haha, oh well, we'll get ours one day

Fearing i'm going to be a bit too far NW for anything semi-significant here...but we'll ride it out. Hope everyone gets through the night safely and wakes up tomorrow with more than forecasted!

Right now it’s 30 in Matthews with a -7 dew point….wow.
im moving back to that area in March...i lived there for 7 years before moving to Durham in 2020. I know how sparse winter weather is down there. One reason im really hoping for a big hit in the remaining winter. Might be the last one i see for a long while.

I imagine most of us are spending as much time now watching radars and weather station statuses, and looking out the window.
This is me. This storm has been discussed to death over the last week to be honest. Now its just wait and see mode. If there were any "goods" to discuss, we would be

I'll go on record saying that storm on the 12z GFS is the biggest/best fantasy storm I've ever seen modeled for South Carolina inside 200 hours. One for the fantasy record books for sure.
maybe instead of going from models showing 8+ inches and ending up with 1-2 inches we'll go to models showing 20+ inches and ending up with 4-5!

seems you need the heavier returns to get snow. N. Durham, i hear sleet when i'm outside. Can see slight accumulation on deck, cars, trash lids, etc.
-
all snow now in north durham. Accumulation on trash can lid and cars beginning

Just feels like a hard wish cast map. Hard to expect these results out of such a weak low
hes been banking on a heavy west/northwest move of the precip field all day.
