Down there in NYC ok.. not interior SNE
how about interior CNE? i average like 2" in Novie. most (~90%) are 0-2", and of course there are a couple outliers with a bigger storm, but those are few and far between. Novie is NOT a winter month.

I can't even stay awake for 65 straight hours, nevermind skiing for that long. f*** that!

I can never understand people from out of New England coming in here complaining about their winter. So odd
that's my point. IDGAF if it rains, snows, or there is a meteor strike in NY/NJ. that these clowns continue to post in the NE subforum pretty much defeats the purpose of subforums. are the NE posters supposed to go to the NY NJ subforum and brag about having more snow? Last i knew that was frowned upon by the establishemnt.
I already have some of them on ignore, and the list is growing.

Only a completely different topic.....stepped outside this morning and heard a bird call and my first reaction was "that's a spring bird." I don't know bird calls, but thought it interesting that my brain's first reaction was spring to hearing this specific bird.
i heard the same thing yesterday morning and had the same thought-spring birds, whatever they are

when the headline is "xx city had the warmest month on record!!!" that's the problem I am talking about because it is due to bad data

calibrating an instrument that is used to measure to the tenths to +2/-2 is ridiculous. i know nothing about weather instruments, but know a little about scientific instruments, and can say for certain that that standard is just wrong. it should be like +0.5/-0.5 at worst.
not to mention how much a 2.0 degree error can skew the whole CC argument one way or the other.

This logic...
Then how do most areas in an around Presque isle have 20" or less on the ground?
Sublimation. Compaction. And much less so - melting. If it's not snowing, your pack is decreasing in size. Pretty simple.
Anyway. Throw a ratio out there - it's a lot higher than 50%.
dude-it has rained all the up through Pittsburg multiple times this season. they couldn't even open the snowmobile trails until late January (around the 20th) due to all the rain they got. i would say Pittsburg is prob around 50/50, and @dendrite is around 70/30 rain/snow for the season

WTF?? What a stupid statement. We haven’t had blocking in years here, and have had some monsters the last decade.
Then this December we had monster blocking and got skunked. Lol.
he is from Rockland County, whereever that is-not in NE. he knows not of which he speaks.

Yeah as much as I love outdoors/mountains/lakes/etc....being that far from civilization full time with small kids doesn't exactly give me the warm fuzzies.

The same crew that has been wishcasting snowstorms since November for DC/BAL/PHL/NYC is trying to wishcast next weekend into a another snowstorm for them. You’d think after being wrong over and over for the last 4 months they’d get embarrassed, humble and stop but nope. The hype machine is still in full effect41 minutes ago, snowman19 said:
Another rainstorm for NYC, that’s not a snowstorm pattern. Stop believing twitter, they’ve been wrong all winter40 minutes ago, SRRTA22 said:Youre only allowed 5 posts per day? someone humbled you it looks like.
