Think back to Y2K... think about how much time was required to make sure systems and software were able to handle the year change. Literally years.
A bunch of systems would need some jiggering to make this work smoothly. Does not affect me that I know of but I'm sure many businesses/agencies have systems that need to be re-worked
Was thinking the same thing. Every operating system that automatically updates clocks for DST would have to be reconfigured. I don't know much about that, and maybe it is an easy fix, but there are probably lots of other systems that will need more attention.

But what about the song "Over the river and through the woods"? They explicitly say "The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh,
Through (the) white and drifted snow!". There are no St. Patrick's Day snow related songs. This obviously means that March isn't a real snow monthO Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountainside
The summer's gone and all the roses falling
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bideBut come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or all the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
O Danny boy, O Danny boy, I love you soWhen winter's come and all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for meBut I shall hear though soft you tread above me
And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be
And you will bend and tell me that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to meO Danny boy, the stream flows cool and slowly
And pipes still call and echo 'cross the glen
Your broken mother sighs and feels so lowly
For you have not returned to smile againSo if you've died and crossed the stream before us
We pray that angels met you on the shore
And you'll look down, and gently you'll implore us
To live so we may see your smiling face once more
Once moreAlso, the poem that was turned into "Over the River and Through the Woods" was written in 1844 which appears to be near the end of The Little Ice Age, so a snowy Thanksgiving was probably more common. Jerry might be able to confirm what Thanksgiving was like in 1844.- 1

That was my fear as well, but I am fully vaccinated and boosted. Been a week now since I tested positive. Did a home test last night and it was negative but went for a real test this morning and it was positive. At least it is easy to change my flight. Was out about an hour ago and could barely stand in the wind. Lots of flooding south of Manchester with lots of trains canceled. Enjoy London. Will be there in May.My fear has been getting a positive covid test. 5 days?
When I said to Kevin this is real wind, I meant not a 70 mph models winds but actual winds that are higher than that that really happen.

I'm up north in Manchester and it has been storm after storm with even a little snow yesterday. Wind has been crazy at times. Stuck here after testing positive for covid. Can't fly home until I get a negative test. Feel bad about missing yesterday's squalls.Quite a pattern for the UK. I’m sitting in the hotel having dinner in London and it’s very windy outside and raining. Couple of days ago apparently they had a gust to 120 miles an hour in London itself and it blew a roof off. Glad I didn’t have to land and those kinds of wins. Looks like when I get home Tuesday night will be in snowstorm mode.
the wind is real here Kevin.

Beer! Today's keg and cask lineup at the Piccadilly Tap, one of my favorite pubs in Manchester.

OWD was -14 lol.
Crazy. I got up and looked at my phone, and the NWS app was showing -9 (from OWD) for the 6 AM reading. Went and checked my backyard reading and it was 6. Guess I don't radiate much.

No idea how much in Randolph, but drifting is impressive.

Crazy in the band south of Boston now. Still small flake size, but visibility is well under 100 yards. No idea how much we have so far, but the drifting will be impressive. Temp down to 17.

Also they have to show the output to the Queen so that takes time, she's fussy about isobars and such.
Then wait for the VAR review to see if there was a clear and obvious error.

I assumed he meant he doesn't see power issues for this area because it won't be heavy and wet.

At the same pub in Europe. Day and night, around the clock.
Heading to England next week. I'll try to find the pub where the crazy uncle hangs out. A few pints and a few single malts, and he'll be putting out enough major blizzards to keep George happy.

Frustration on this garbage winter aside....if we're looking for the best windows here, it's still Jan 25-26....there is still pretty decent ensemble support for that system.
Then I'd prob look at Jan 29-30th and Feb 2nd....those are two dates that have some weak ensemble signals.
Flying to England on February 2nd, so you can probably look that in to %#@* up my travel plans,
