My father lived in Barrington right on Narragansett Bay and lost some neighbors. When I was a kid I always remember him going to the basement if there were any strong winds. The sound brought back the memory of 38.Yep... 38 is almost impossible to envision based on our recent past. My father lived through 38 in central CT and he recalled in very stark terms what the damage looked like...

Bay side is nice and First Encounter is just down the road, but the national seashore beaches are spectacular. Went to Marconi on Friday; no crowd but water was frigid.Love the bay side. No sharks and warm water.

Seemed like something went south of me in Randolph as well. Got extremely dark, then winds picked up and swirled a bit before switching to W. Nearly 1.5" and still raining. Fun morning.Something passed to my south.

One rain gauge with 1.21 and another with 2.25. The one with the lower amount is in a more open area but tends to get a lot of junk in it. The one with the higher amount is under more trees. I suspect the truth is somewhere in between. Still raining but not like the earlier deluges.

Doing Holland America Inner Passage cruise out of Vancouver in two weeks. Can't wait. Which cruise are you doing? Post some pictures.Headed to the west coast for a cruise to Alaska later this week. It’s difficult to imagine even cooler summer weather than what we’ve been experiencing.

Started getting quite breezy overnight out in Eastham. Probably 20 with gusts to 30. House across from the cottage we rent has a big f***ing wind chime in the yard. Wanted to go rip it down during the night.
