As that line moves through it got very dark, wind howling with rain blowing off roofs. Have had the fire scanner on all morning, non-stop trees and lines down all over town.

Don't have a scanner here, but hearing sirens on a regular basis here in Randolph.

Sounds like a squirrel or chippy may be trying to grow one for you. 

Almost no acorns this year after a couple of big years, so maybe the critters are trying to send us a message!

Any birders out there know why birds of all types minus woodpeckers disappeared for the last 2 months. They have come back in full force of many varieties. The woods once again are filled with bird sounds. Our local FB group has noticed as well. Strange 

We noticed the same thing in early September. The birds just see to vanish. Most have slowly returned now, but not seeing any finches or woodpeckers. Cardinal numbers also seem low as do the returning juncoes. Haven't seen any theories or explanations.

Having a beer on the patio now after some leaf cleanup and the crickets are out here as well. Also got buzzed by a mosquito earlier. November of yore.

The amount of trees hovering over your house makes me cringe. Cutemdown!

Fortunately they lean away from the house. We took down one giant oak this summer that leaned over the house once we discovered there was a crack about halfway up.
