I found out what the deal was. It was Murgo on Facebook showing a graph of the GFS and Euro in agreement last night. Apparently it scared the natives.

The mammoth model guidances a week out have a weird knack for verifying. I remember the 2017 storm, eviscerating a local Met on social media (not our local Met) for posting a run of the Euro a week out that showed 36 inches of snow in MDT. I went off saying that was like yelling "Fire" in a theatre a week out. I was wrong.

2010 storms also had mammoth runs verify a week out. It's happened enough to take seriously.

Can we just not have the brutal cold that's coming? I don't like it when the air hurts my face

It's damn cold out up here. If we can get just enough moisture, the central counties could eeak out a winner here.

So, I am currently in Huntingdon, and it is gorgeous. Freezing, but gorgeous. 

I'm thinking about heading up to the lake this afternoon to see how things look up that way. It may be a bit north of the best action, but trending makes it seem like it may be right in the thick. We'll see.
