My aunt and uncle were there last week They were waiting for their plane to take off from KEF and felt an earthquake They said it was pretty scary My aunt is an avid photographer and has been there several times This trip she left her gear at home and this was just with an iPhone outside her hotel She said it was so bright

My aunt and uncle were leaving there last week (THurs?) and were in their plane awaiting departure when they felt on of the stronger earthquakes. KEF isn't that far from the activity. They also had their Blue Lagoon ressies cancelled. Decent chance of a fissure opening within the town of Grindavik (pop 3700) which would suck

Yep. They did last night on Conifer at least (saw it from Rte 2) and tonight. Some of it will melt for sure but some should survive

Yeah. For big projects gas is def the way to go. But is your lawn itself 5 acres? That’s huge. My property is around 3 but a lot of it is woods.

I’m all for going solar and for getting EVs for my household. There are numerous issues from my viewpoint right now. 1. Should not be mandated until the tech is much better and cheaper if ever 2. Ease of transition to solar has to improve. Right now it is typically difficult. 3. EVs need to be overall more reliable and cheaper. Tesla tends to rank poorly for reliability. I have not seen data on specific models from legacy manufacturers or smaller brands like Rivi an. The prices are way to high for most people. 4. Obvious infrastructure improvements specifically for those who don’t own their own homes. Where can they charge. 5. Range and quick charging need to improve. Solid state cells might solve this but still a ways off.
