29.7F Light sleet and freezing rain After a bit of snow we have the light mix. I have no idea what is going to happen today. Will I stay below 32F? Reading Gray they feel better dynamics might flip me back to snow for awhile later. I am more pessimistic. Plow guys are calling me and asking me what is going to happen. Glad I am not a Met for my local area for this one

Couple of days ago when you had that beautiful snowfall north of the notch was amazing too. Totally bare ground in Lincoln. Even the mountains around town were bare. Drive into Franconia Notch and come out the other side with substantial snowcover on the ground and on the trees. Guess that how it is on the different sides of the VT spine but it's think it's more rare here for abrupt changes. Maybe not? In any event you have had constant snowcover for a couple of weeks now.

Wow is this a hard storm to predict for my hood for tomorrow. So marginal and every run and every model is slightly different. Almost impossible to predict sensible hourly weather for my elevation for this storm. Below freezing to start probably snow. Then going over to a mix. Perhaps moderate rain with catpaws and parachutes falling but not sticking. Honestly I have no idea other than its going to be a cold stormy day. Glad I have a sunroom with a 180 glass view over my property. Good day to be sit back on the laptop in the easy chair with the laptop and watch.

It must s...k to be in SNE and watch every snow possibility be for us. It reminds me of a few years ago when SNE kept getting creamed while we had heavy virga for storm after storm. The nice thing is that it's not even Thanksgiving so lots of time for winter.

18Z Euro even further west. Low cuts through Cape Cod canel through Boston harbor to Cape Ann 978mb.. Throws 1-2" of qpf into all of NNE. Should be interesting for high elevations of Whites and especially Vermont

It was last November 27th last year that I got a 13" birch wrecker. 18" up at 1400 feet but only a couple of sloppy inches down where everyone lives 500 feet or so. Driving around these parts its easy to see how many birch trees are now forever bent over. Similar event? Tonights 0Z runs will be interesting for those few of us up here.

Just got in and looked at the 18Z GFS. Gets heavy qpf in here. Last November we had a birch bender that did a lot of damage in my hood. Could we do it again?

Fropa 130pm. Temp rising quickly as we mix out. Euro seems interesting to me for Sunday. Marginally cold for snow . 850 and 925mb and surface temps from Brian's north right around freezing.

Enjoy it. Cold front in a couple of hours then upslope snow this evening and back into the deep freeze.

Beautiful warm sunny day. Did a quick ride north through Franconia Notch. 100% clear in Lincoln with no snow on the ground. Snowcover quickly builds through the notch and north of there was absolutely beautiful. No wind and perfect temperatures to make every tree just a mantle of white.

33.5F Light snow Vis 3/4 to 1 mile Just took a 10 minute drive. Very sharp rain/snow line. 1/4 mile down my road just rain with a few cat paws. 1/2 mile up my road almost 2" of snow and a winter wonderland. Snow sticking to everything.

33.5F Steady light snow. Just begining to stick on north facing areas where grass is cooler.

35.6F cloudy vis up to 10 miles. Storm total .42" Just a cloudy day yesterday although we were under a WWA the whole day. Light rain and 33-34F overnight. Rain turned to snow mid morning. Got a quick slight coating with some giant parachutes, temp at 33.5 to 34F as they fell and melted within a half hour. To keep up with you and J Spin I could add .1" or .2" to my seasonal total but it was gone in an eyeblink I'll just record it as a T day. Tomorrow looks like perhaps .10" or .15" of qpf with temps in the low 30's. Maybe another coating. Old snow from last week is mostly gone except some in the woods here and there.

Just looked at the qpf output with the 0Z NAM. Seems like this is becoming a non event for much of Western New England. Very little qpf now. Trend is our friend?

Yeah, its so hard to have sustained bare ground up there after mid to late November. You get thaws and cutters but then on the back side get the upslope that refreshes the pack. I don't think you keep stats on snowcover since you moved up from Boston but I just can't remember seeing mostly bare ground on your cam for more than a few days at a time in winter.

I think you will be fine. .50" of precip, if that. It all falls with temps in the 30's so not much melting. Some freezing rain, some sleet then Tuesday it turns back to a couple of inches of snow. I think the net result will be neutral. I certainly don't see any bare ground up there.

18Z GFS backs more qpf into Vermont and western portions of NNE. 18Z on left, 12Z on right. Not sure how accurate these Weatherbell Maps are but I see a .83" of ZR in bullseye places. Enough to cause problems

Nice GOES picture today. Can really see the snowcover line cutting across New England. Yesterday's warm temperatures melted about 50% of my snowcover. Here in Central NH the snow cover line cuts right through my area. 5 miles south almost nothing while just north the snowcover held on. Interesting storm coming up. Obviously no snow of consequence but sleet/freezing rain for much of at least the west portions of NNE. Euro gives me 1" of total qpf.

22F Light snow vis 1 mile. Didn't expect snow this afternoon as far south as me.

23F and light snow. Vis about 3 miles I figured there would be some over running snow in the mountains but didn't expect it here.
