  1. Just had my gutters cleaned out today, bring on the rain!
  2. Yeah my street was bad around 4:20pm heading to get food for the family. Once on main streets it was fine just had to be careful of slush on turning lane on Jericho tpke. Winds roaring with gusts to 30 here so far.
  3. Not sure if anyone posted this but OKX radar is down starting 12/3 for an upgrade. https://www.weather.gov/okx/SLEP-KOKX-December Beginning December 3, 2019, the KOKX WSR-88D radar operated by the NOAA National Weather Service in Upton, New York will be down for approximately five days for the refurbishment of the transmitter. Although the form, fit, and function of the transmitter will remain the same, old breakers and cables original to the radar will be replaced with modern fuses and new cables. This will help keep the radar operating smoothly for another 20 years. This transmitter update is the second major project of the NEXRAD Service Life Extension Program, a series of upgrades and replacements that will keep our nation’s radars viable into the 2030’s. NOAA National Weather Service, the United States Air Force, and the Federal Aviation Administration are investing $150 million in the seven year program. The first project was the installation of the new signal processor. The two remaining projects are the refurbishment of the pedestal and equipment shelters. The Service Life Extension Program will complete in 2022.
  4. 20.9 in Syosset & 19.5 in Muttontown for the low this morning.
  5. https://www.weather.gov/media/okx/Climate/CentralPark/monthlyseasonalsnowfall.pdf
  6. 30.1 in Syosset and 29.8 in Muttontown. Nice bust by OKX on the temp forecast. Still never had a frost advisory or freeze warning issued, yet I’ve had lots of frost and a freeze.
  7. Mine is 39 and I’m 37 already. I’m sure we’ll see 32 or lower in the morning.
  8. Always go lower than OKX with low winds and clear skies. They’ve busted badly the last couple of nights here in NE Nassau. I’m sure you’ve had the same for your location as well.
  9. Ah, gotcha. Yes for Halloween I agree on your statement.
  10. I wouldn't call the precip amounts minimal on the 12Z Euro. Has .50" to 1.75" depending on location.
  11. Just like summer. We’d see the heat and it would get here for a little and then we’d get a transient shot of relief before the high DPs came back and the heat tried to get up to us. Then we’d repeat it all over again.
  12. Oh I know the GFS is bad on the extended I was just showing there was guidance at the time showing 52. Hence the talk of cold happening. It’s already up to 57 now on 00Z run and as you said it’ll be in the 60s in no time. This SE ridge isn’t going anywhere, Miami is having its hottest October on record.

  14. GFSX MOS has a high of 52 for 10/31 for NYC, but enough with the cold air nonsense.
  15. Yeah I saw 30 at 5am I bet they dropped to upper 20s this morning out there.
  16. 34.8 in Syosset & 33.5 in Muttontown this morning. Cars frosted up and frost on grass as well in Syosset.
  17. Call 311 if the temp inside is below 68. That usually gets the LLs attention. Can’t imagine waiting for temp to drop below 62 with a newborn, that’s just cruel for the baby.
