  1. My gf reports 40 as the low at home. Saw a reading of 33 up here at Mount Snow.
  2. Here's my useless knowledge of the day: this is the first August since living here (since 2005) that I recorded lows in the 40s three mornings in a row.
  3. I'll be up at Mount Snow for the annual Brewers Festival, it says 39 for a low Saturday morning, we shall see up there.
  4. At some point this week some of the models had a passing shower or two late last night/early this morning. I don't believe anything fell here.
  5. How was Bristol and Nashville? Ioved Nashville last year, talk about Music City! I would like to get back there and see a race at Bristol for sure.
  6. Business picked up after I posted, nothing severe but decent rain with some breezes, .40" so far
  7. I'm hearing from the line to my northwest, was just outside watching the constant lightning as that smaller cell started to sprinkle on me
  8. Jealous. As I'm sure you know that up there this may not be too early but I'm not an expert. I know when I've gone up to the White mountains in NH during Columbus Day week it can be great or too late. That said often while one area is past peak the other side of the mountain it still in all its glory. Locally, I drove over to New Windsor yesterday and notice a little color on a few maples.
  9. Yeah, our mods in this forum are slackers for sure LOL
  10. Days of hi 75/lo 50 at the end of the 12z Euro period. Makes me want to go apple-picking just thinking about it. (Yes, I'm trolling JC)
  11. My river birch dropped a bunch of yellow leaves but it's still young, about 7 years old, and gets sun pretty much all day. I should've watered it more in late June and July. A little over 2" in the bucket while I was gone last week.
  12. I wont need to water the garden tonight...yikes, total downpour for the past 20 minutes or so
  13. A bunch of up and downs with my OBX trip since last Friday but I feel confident now that we'll be able to go next week the only question is if we can get in there Saturday as planned or have to wait a day or two. Maybe I'll get "crushed" in some storms today, maybe not, but I can guarantee I'll be crushin' it at the beach and poolside at some point in the near future. Hoping to be able to see some more water spouts down there too.
  14. I had a nice view of those pop ups as I drove east up and over Greenville Mt on 84
  15. Found out that Hatteras Island, where our house is, is not under the mandatory evacuation so we have that going for us. Worst case scenario we load up my generator next Friday night and bring it down to keep the food and beer cold. They are installing various large portable generators but I believe there will still be rolling blackouts even once they all are online. This afternoon they are slated to announce how big, and long, of a repair it will be.
  16. Luckily we have trip insurance as well. I ran some rough numbers. There's 7,700 customers out and let's say 3,500 of those are rental houses. Using a total guess of an average house cost this time of year of $5,000 for a week if folks miss next week there's lost revenue of $17.5 million in just house fees. So yeah, this could hurt them big time.
