Greenwood lake got absolutely destroyed this morning. Nws is up there now.

Like I said in the NW thread, I don't recall ever seeing a request for so many UTV for a call that's not a brushfire.

Just some light rain and a few rumbles here with the first cell. It was a little rowdy in the Greenwood Lake area with some trees down, this one slid just to our south. We’ll see what happens with the second round of activity that’s on our doorstep.

I knew that cell went through Greenwood Lake but I didn't realize it was that bad. I do now after looking at the fire calls from this morning, at least one tree on a car and numerous trees on houses I saw after taking a quick glance. I dont recall seeing a request for that many UTVs before for something other than a brush fire.

    congratulations!

I can't deal with this freaking rain anymore

Thank you. Sunday looking relatively decent now. I was going to mow after work but of course those pop up showers are going right over my yard.

    I'm not dead yet...

Nothing special to talk about I guess. Yeah, a bit over average but the surface has dried sufficiently that it's not squishy walking around the yard and the few things I planted aren't rotting within a week so that's nice. I'd really like it to dry out some more though, these rainy weekends are killing my business for the second year in a row and that sucks.

    I'm getting better!!

Agreed, not much to talk about. Sadly I think Ive got use to the rain every couple to few days.

  5. Good morning, is there anybody alive out there?! Up to .52" for this event. 2.70" for the month so its looking like another above normal month here. My son got married at Notre Dame on 5/4/24, a fantastic weekend all around! The weather turned out great out there that day. My son and daughter-in-law are doing it again this Sunday in NJ for all friends and family (Notre Dame was a relatively small affair). Hoping the rain gets out of here by Sunday afternoon.

Big bag of bust here....     .15 and sun is poking through.  Models show more later though but HRRR has nothing NE of NYC now

.53 overnight but the sun is peeking through here now as well, 50/47.

30 this morning for the low. This may be it for the freezes this season.

A little bit early for a last freeze, I've found we usually average the May 2 to 6 period for last freeze.

My records show the last freeze average date to be 4/25, so pretty much on point here.

Since the forums for Western NY are dead I'll ask here. What's it looking like in Ellicotville for the weekend? I know what the official forecast says but how wet is it really gonna be?

Yeah cause this thread is really hopping these days LOL. Looks like showers on Saturday, Sunday looks better but that was a quick glance at the Euro only. Jamestown below.

...ENHANCED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD TODAY...

The combination of low relative humidity between 25 and 30 percent
and south winds gusting around 20 mph will result in an enhanced
risk of wildfire spread. If any fires were to start the weather
and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of
control and be difficult to contain.

The annual NY statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14th. No
    burn permits are issued.
