Record cold and snow was coming for 6 months in a row according to him. His 57-58, 65-66, 76-77, 77-78, 02-03 and 09-10 “analogs” and “migrating Modoki” worked out superbly lol First it was Thanksgiving week/late November, then Christmas week, then late December/New Year’s, then late January and early February, then mid-late February “Sixteen Chapel” cold and snow pattern, then early March, then March 10th-April 10th, then late March/early April, “coldest and snowiest start to spring in history”. Anyone who actually takes him seriously anymore needs a psychiatric evaluation

Most knew to bail when the pattern change was delayed to mid Jan and only lasted a week or so before it flipped back to warmth

I use this new invention a hose. Works just like momma nature.

You're missing the irony of what was a crazy wet pattern to suddenly bone dry

usually this time of year you don't have to water anything....And I really don't want to have to water a half acre just to get some fertilizer to dissolve....

There's definitely warm days ahead but with cold ssts in the northwest Atlantic and residual blocking, wouldn't be surprised to see backdooring well into JUNE

    Fixed:whistle:

TWC was my childhood. I was a kid in its heyday. Honestly I probably credit it partially with my intense passion for earth science.

Me too.   I remember hearing about a channel that was about to be launched that was all weather all the time.  I could hardly contain myself!    I literally knew the lineup and when to tune in-5 day planner at .20, tropical update at .50 etc.

you can't make this stuff up

you all better be outside enjoying it for me!

Still making the rounds-at least you don't have to isolate for 5 days anymore....feel better!

I hope we go into a legit drought from here on out to be honest. Would be the 1st one in the region since 2002, we’re due anyway

Will be tough given the warm Atlantic SST's and likely tropical systems affecting the eastern states-would need a heat dome with west winds...I don't see that personally.

I probably mentioned it here before but I have bad seasonal affective disorder and hopefully when I retire in a few years I can head south for at least a warmer (sunnier?) climate

And more daylight.  That's the thing that gets me in the winter....

Nam is still bone dry for tomorrow. Other models have around a tenth of an inch but shouldn't be a big deal

Seems like the firehose has turned off for awhile now

We can probably begin to plant the annuals after this weekend since the next couple of days will probably be the last freeze for the colder spots around the metro area until next fall.

yeah told my sons on the drive to school today that last night's frost might be it for the season....

Yeah, people don't get that low humidity, breezy conditions and lack of short term rainfall all dry the topsoil and fire fuel out real fast so fires are a legit threat coming up.

it's the old brush from last fall that's a threat and the weeds and other ground cover have not come up yet so there's alot of fuel ready to go...which is why you see most fire statements in April/May vs June or July

It's in the 60s and sunny aka normal April weather.

It's not like it's a dreary multi day onshore flow event with temps in the 40s and 50s.

The weather is beautiful and will be in the 70s soon.

Yeah not sure what some are looking for-it's sunny 60 and not much wind-I'll take that and  run this time of year any day.

People would be foolish to have warm weather stuff like tomatoes in the garden this early. I still just have cold tolerant vegetables like broccoli and lettuce in the garden right now. Important to wait until early May for the stuff that's sensitive to frost in this area, but I guess they put up these frost advisories for people that plant too early.

I saw annuals out at Home Depot this weekend-seemed a bit early for that.  At least here you need to wait until 5/7 or so to be safe from frost

No doubt in my mind that he’s going for a huge cold and snowy east coast winter this year. That’s the reason why he’s hyping a La Niña with a hyper active recurving Atlantic hurricane season and a +PDO. He’s looking for any excuse to say 1995-1996 and 2010-2011 are analogs (if the PDO doesn’t work out, he will say the +QBO matches 2010). His entire existence depends on the east coast weenies forking him over subscription money and giving him likes, follows and retweets on X

At some point that will decline-I've notice some of his most ardent followers on other boards have started to jump ship...
