  1. Just don't save too much. Make sure to live. I've seen so many death certs on my desk the last few months. Some of the craziest stories. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Get out there and enjoy this planet!
  2. Heading up with a bunch of people to hike some more high peaks this weekend. We are going to backpacking for 3 days. We will be sleeping in hammocks. Conditions look quite cold up there this weekend. We are doing 5 more peaks, the Dix range. I'm thinking 30s on the high peaks. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/dix-range
  3. This was all me. I work in the field, she knows nothing about finance/business. She literally does not know anything of our financial situation.
  4. This is true along with Kayaks. I could sell mine today for double what I paid.
  5. We're actually in a deflationary rate environment right now. Things are cheaper now. The theory that printing money endlessly causes prices to skyrocket may not be true in modern society like it was in the past. Their are many factors that go into this. population, consumer spending, consumer saving, etc.... https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/current-inflation-rates/
  6. Don't worry Tug. We don't pay for any of this, they just print more money. Our Federal tax bracket is unlikely to change. If any taxes do go up it will be the state. And UI benefits through the state are paid for by the company you work for.
  7. Yeah I don't think NYS has any money to provide the extra $100 per week. But I'll take the $300, would help out a lot while she job searches.
  8. This is true and why I laughed when he said he was going to NJ. Never gonna happen.
  9. 10 minutes down the road from me gets an extra 75" a year. Doesn't really bother me.
  10. Hope something gets passed. Still no word from my wifes employer. She has begun looking for new jobs.
  11. I didn't even know something like this was possible. Sustained winds at that level for 30+ minutes for a thunderstorm. Just incredible event. Like some have mentioned, it looks like a hurricane coming closer as the intensity builds.
  12. Exactly. 150" a year is an insane amount of snow. It beats basically anyone east of the Rockies except snowbelts and really high elevations.
  13. That thing looked like a Cat 2 hurricane with consistent neverending high end gusts. I also didn't think that was possible in a severe weather event. Usually they are extremely brief.
  14. I just saw that. How do you determine 33% capacity? And no one is wearing a mask their entire workout, just ain't happening. When they come in and when they leave, but during workout I'd say 50-75% of people won't wear a mask.
  15. Definitely the most intense one I've seen on camera. 14 min mark is just unreal.
  16. Just got back from the Dacks. Hit up 5 more high peaks with some friends. On Thursday we started hiking around 2:30 am to make it up to Algonquin for a sunrise hike. Absolutely the most incredible sunrise I've ever seen. Perfect conditions up there. In the upper 40s, no wind.
  17. Peak wind gusts with #derecho so far: – 106 mph in Le Grand, IA – 99 mph in Albion, IA – 95 mph in Marshalltown, IA – 90 mph in Chelsea, IA – 88 mph in Urbandale, IA – 80 mph in Colfax, IA – 78 mph in Saylorville, IA
  18. This is Hawkeye in Cedar Rapids. It’s a damn war zone here. I lost my tree, fence, and garden. Trees are trashed everywhere. My neighbor’s 60 ft maple was sheared right off halfway up. We got 50 mph sustained, with gusts to 100, for 30+ minutes. It was unreal.
  19. Gusts reported over 100 MPH in the midwest. One of the best derechos in awhile.
  20. Good luck man. The real estate market is insanity right now. I bought my house last year in January for 160k. Just got it appraised and it's worth 190k. 30k in 1 year. Houses are going 10-50k above asking right now depending on price range. Some of my clients have said open houses have 20-30 bids each. Buffalo is still exploding in value. People realize how great of a place it is to live finally. I love this city. I've traveled all over the world and still find this place amazing.
  21. Indoor dining has been open here for 2 months. I just ate at a bar 2 days ago, was pretty normal. Gyms, movie theaters, sporting events, concerts remain closed. Makes no sense, open up everything.
