  1. I'll take what I can get. Good news, at least in my neck of the woods, is snow growth has been good and it hasn't actually been super wet despite the temp. Didn't actually measure it, but the half inch that has fallen so far actually felt like fairly decent ratio stuff. Let it pile up!
  2. Temp finally dropping, down to 32.5 degrees. Moderate snow with 0.5" new on existing snowpack and 0.2" new on deck.
  3. Drizzle appears to be mixing in with the few pitiful flakes that are falling. If this storm sucked any harder it would create enough vacuum pressure to re-erect the tent that collapsed from the storm on Jan 10th. Here she is as of today, haven't even gone down to peak inside there. Frankly can't even remember much of what's in there.
  4. Finally starting snowing again here. That initial spurt wasn't enough to even slightly whiten up dirty snow piles.
  5. 34.7 degrees and so far very underwhelming. Snow isn't sticking to anything but the snowpack itself. And it looks like I'm about to enter a big ole' hole on the radar. Even the stratus is sad.
  6. 33.8 and nothing here yet in Bradford. In the meantime, please enjoy this photo I took on a walk earlier of a cemetery, unfinished barn, and Little Sunapee hiding in the clouds.
  7. At least you can explain that away with an actual scientific reason.
  8. Haha, it took me such a long time to line up the yard stick with the speed square so that it would be perfectly parallel to the sign in the photo. People were watching me like, "what the hell is this guy doing?"
  9. 32.0 degrees here this morning. Big contrast in ice cover from Friday evening's event on higher terrain. Trees right outside my back deck at 890ft are ice free. The hillside in the background is covered in ice at just over 2000ft. Hoping for a good event here. To improve snow ratios, I plan on running around outside with a flyswatter in order to carefully caress each snowflake and set it down with the gentlest of touch.
  10. 00z Euro is fairly anemic, especially to the east (in terms of snow). Really only favors the Berkshires and the southern Greens.
  11. Well, I certainly appreciate what you guys do. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it is to sit down to develop some sort of model that attempts to deterministically predict what is going to happen in the atmosphere of an extremely dynamic planet. The number of moving parts boggles the mind. You guys get way too little love. I'm even guilty of it - making fun of weather models that took many people much smarter than I to develop, test, and run. Thanks again!
  12. Out of curiosity, are these models developed by NWS or NCEP or whatever government guys, or is there a fair amount of contractor support?
  13. Can't guarantee people won't be wading into the ocean come Monday, but I can assure you that the UKMET will not be correct.
