Its crazy because brooklyn is wet and the bronx looks like a snowglobe rn..windy with heavy blowing snow currently. We blew past 3 inches already in most parts of the bx lower westchester county..some parts might even be at 4+ by now.

Theres going to be a stripe from northern nj right across in to northern nyc east to the no shore of li ..5+ inches is pretty much looking like a lock. My location has 3.1 rn and ripping!!

It is windy snowy and cold up here..i can verify its all winter up in these parts of norwood. Currently snowing hard temps have actually dropped back to 32 from 34 earlier.

Yeah we are currently getting crushed up here in the bx..but i figured all the mix would go back to snow down in the city.

Winds are now northerly so that should keep areas with snow as mostly snow. The mix line seems to have stalled right over the south shore maybe trying to push back south a bit. Heavy precip is also coming in. Currently moderate snow big flakes here ..officially 2.1 here in the bx and counting.

You might get a burst soon..the maxima of warmer air seems to have stopped just in time. The coastal is starting to do its thing rn!!

Yeah for you guys it sucks but less then 10 miles north of you its ripping rn.

I can verify..its ripping rn. I did mention yesterday that the northern bx/westchester border area will do gd here and so far its verifying.

Moderate snow rn with big fat flakes falling..starting to accumulate again. Some gd echos overhead rn and some more incoming. We prob dont change over until the end up here in the northern bronx.

Its all snow up here in the bx. The next hour is gonna be crazy with the heavier echoes coming right into nyc. Everyone should go back to snow then..1.3 inches down so far.

Wow..look at how south and east redevelopment is happening. 2 days ago that low was modeled just south of the south shore of l.i. its a delmarva special.

Rippage here in the bx currently. Also the precip is really blowing up around the metro area rn with the coastal starting to take shape.

Dryslot is closing up fast..nyc prob wont see much of a lull. Since the next batch seems to be filling in with the stuff to our east..looking gd for the metro.!!..

Its all moderate snow rn..the sleet that fell earlier gave the snow a better surface to stick on so everything minus the roads is covered!!. Finally the first real snow of the season!!

Looks like the main system is cutting across in to ohio,not in to the lakes?..the blocking is real with this one!!. Its already displaced south and east of all modeled guidance currently. Less northern movement keeps the cold locked in once the coastal takes over.

38/20f here in the north western bronx,i do expect us to be in the golden zone near the rn/sn line never making it to whitestone bridge with the heavy previp. Mostly snow for us!!..4-6 is my call for my area,wouldnt be surprized if we had isolated higher amounts where banding sets up.

6z nam and gfs looks pretty gd for my neck of the woods. We stay below freezing here in the bx and it looks mostly if not all frozen..2-4 is my call but i wont be surprized to see 5 in some spots esp near the northern bx/westchester county border..

6z models..nam and gfs..cold and snowy. The freezing line is even farther south and barely reaches southern n.y.c at its warmest.

No kidding but you never know. The volatility will be there,just need the right mix. Also a delayed winter might mean a change in our planets atmosphere with a connection to our core and magnetic fields associated with it. Basically our planet is going thru a lot of changes that also affect our weather,not including man made climate change..i will say if it ever snows in june then we've all had it!!

It would be the equalizer in this crazy winter. The cold air might even stay in to mid spring,wherever the cold and warm meet ..alot of precip will fall..i wouldnt discount anything after watching snow fall in southern california,and still snowing in some parts .

Looks like the bronx might be the place to be if you want decent accumulations over 3 inches in the city. colder models always make me happy esp inside 3 days. Its looking better every run.

I think this incoming batch is gonna surprize everyone. I got a coating from that nobx/westchester co line band that has moved north,but in comes a rather healthy batch of precip. This is n.y.c's time to get some snow down finally.
