  1. 12z FV3 brings a heavy band of snow this afternoon through the west end.
  2. Short range models develop a heavier band around Richmond in the 3-5 pm time frame. That will be our chance.
  3. Thanks RIC, I agree, a cold 1-3” that can stick around for a few days is a big win.
  4. The euro being suppressed so much gives me hope that this won’t trend too far north for us.
  5. Was a good storm, gusts over 50 with power flashes. And the roar of the wind was really something.
  6. Wind is verifying. And the short term models swing a squall line through around 7pm. Could get ugly. Hopefully once this cutter swings through some snow threats show themselves next week.
  7. That storm really would be a miracle. Looks like we have some Monday morning snow showers to track maybe?
  8. That is the craziest model run I’ve ever seen.
  9. Rates and intensity are really picking up in the band.
  10. Yea we need to get some better rates going. I measured .25" in the past hour.
  11. All snow in the west end. I measured an inch of sleet and snow on my board. Side roads are covered. The wind is something.
  12. From Wakefield AFD: In addition, hints of CSI is psbl as frontalgenetic forcing maxes out. Upshot is the psblty of some thunder snow as the systm wraps up. Even if the 4-6” forecasts busts we should all see a pretty epic band of heavy snow for at least a little bit.
  13. Looks like we’re gonna max out this ice accretion with no sleet this morning and the bonus precip overnight.
  14. My point and click forecast is .3-.7” of ice.
  15. HRRR is starting to show no sleet/snow. Just straight to freezing rain tomorrow morning.
  16. I was at harbor freight at parham and broad today and they had a bunch but were going quick. A bunch of people from Amelia were there to buy and said they would be without power for 2 weeks.
  17. Not good. The only way this gets worse is freezing rain with the sun down.
