  1. I never use the big dog anyway. It always stays in the trunk of my car. It’s my 5w and 3w that I’m struggling with. I’ve made some changes to my swing which has improved my iron play but messed with my fairway woods for some reason. The swing shouldn’t be all that different so maybe it’s my shitty old woods which have a flex shaft where they can’t meet my new crushing swing speed demand ha. Or maybe I just suck right now off the tee. Dunno.
  2. Playing Pound Ridge NY on Sunday with some high level folks from my company. It’s a super hard course and my tee game has been pretty bad. Good times.
  3. Nice. We knew you wouldn’t just give up like that.
  4. The only negative is the deeper we get into fall...the more balls I lose in plain sight.
  5. Put up a 38/43 at Wintonbury. Was rolling along until the 11th, then the wheels kinda fell off. Still struggling off the tee.
  6. There’s only one choice to make.
  7. Yup. Heel off! Almost feel like you’re doing a Bryson.
  8. That was an epic meltdown and then he gets two back on 17 and 18, I think, to get to +4. A 9 on 15 would of been enough. I wouldn’t bet against him next week at the 3M, in a weaker field, if he plays. I’m not a fan of his but I like to see how he’ll respond.
  9. Yea. That’s why you also usually see no-names put up low scores on day 1 in big events, then fade. Tough to have your A game 4 days in a row but if you can trend upward by being patient and feeling the course early instead of attacking aggressively...because you can’t win tournies early but you can lose them. I’m perplexed how caught off guard some big names where with the course. Maybe they didn’t respect how much tougher it would play compared to last week so they weren’t as precise. The wind was a factor, sure, but big names shooting 80?! Dunno...interesting round tomorrow though to see who can bounce back.
  10. Not sure if anyone is watching but Muirfield beat up the best players today. Crazy how they can make the course that much more difficult in one week. Cut line will probably be + 2 or +3. Very US Open-ish.
  11. Yea. I like Morikawa’s slow takeaway. No coincidence he’s one of the best iron players.
  12. MA: The Ranch in Southwick and Crumpin Fox in Bernadston. I’ve heard Pine Hills is awesome but I haven’t played it yet.
  13. 3 CT courses off the top of my head...Wintonbury Hills in Bloomfield. Fox Hopyard in East Haddam. Oxford Greens in Oxford.
  14. Actually...Try not to swing hard with irons. I think most of my flush shots have a slower tempo where I’m not trying to max it out but more focused on pure contact.
  15. Me too. I always had a tendency to roll my elbow during my backswing so the video you mention has helped me to be mindful to keep it pointing down as much as possible.
  16. I’m been changing my thought process lately...going away from some things I learned last season and over the winter... and I find this guy to be simple but technical. Here is a good video on transition, which is where I struggle and probably many of us do. Follow him on youtube.
  17. We did not play Bethpage Black. We’ll do it at some point later this summer. My friends played it twice, says it’s worth every penny to experience it. That’s awesome you get to play with your kid. A perfect sport/game to do so. Who’s better? I hope I can share it with one of mine when they get older.
  18. Ha. I don’t scoff at riders though. Once in a while, I’ll ride. Just depends. Some courses you can only ride, comes with green fees so might as well take it. And Usually big heat I may ride but my friend who I played with always walks so it’s just good company to walk together. I’m probably 80/20 walker/rider.
  19. It’s not about being cheap...I’m always a walker. Good exercise and I enjoy the game more that way. I actually played better on the back so not like I got tired. I just felt sluggish most of the round.
  20. Still can’t touch the flag stick. No feely.
  21. 45/42, struggled. Walked The Ranch (9.5miles) carrying my bag in the heat. Felt sluggish the entire round. Back to the drawing board.
  22. Nice dude. I haven’t broke 80 yet this season but I’m close. Playing The Ranch today, today is the day...until it’s not.
  23. More then just PE’s though. They have a variety of useful uses. Like anything one ingests, moderation and knowledge of intended use is key. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2907129/
  24. Been there. I still melt on holes but no longer smash or throw clubs. The game is a head fuk though. The only major sport you can blame no one but yourself (ok sometimes the course). Not the refs, teammates, coaches, etc...which is why I love it. All about the self.
