The pattern continues unabated with indications of another period of anomalous chill will hit in 10 days. It's like the movie Groundhog Day every 10 days since early January.

Look at the planet before you say that, North America has been in a little cold blue bubble since January while the majority of the northern hemisphere is in the red. Oh and the other side of the world centered on India crushed it for record heat.

44.8F with wind swept rain hate it when guidance nails one of the worst May weather days in history from 10 days out

One more thing about it, all the guidance had lesser precipitation amounts for the Lehigh Valley and Poconos with the heaviest expected totals out towards south central PA but the bullseye has ended up substantially to the northeast. We know that never happens in the winter with snow.

100% nasty as it gets for May, would have been the biggest April blizzard on record if it happened a month ago when we had arctic air. Looks like the coastal is beginning to form over the Delmarva.

That's exactly what it is. 14-18" with some areas near two feet.

How about guidance coming full circle from forecasting a total toilet of a weekend five days ago, to looking not nearly as bad, now back to completely disgusting. NAM has temps once dropping into the 40's Friday they stay there all weekend into Monday, GFS almost. But not to be outdone the ECM spins the low off the east coast and keeps us under clouds and shower influence for 10 days lol.

Agree with the big severe threat this spring. When the hot weather finally gets it's azz moving from the tropics and gets north there will be a clash with this conveyor belt of cold from Canada pattern we have in place.

Next weekend is trending a bit more progressive and less chilly more to a compromise with the ECM

Typical warminsta's being conservative with cold...more like much below normal from what I see. Might sneak in a rather warm May 5th however that helps skew a chilly period.

CFS is forecasting a -5F May Going by the completely obliterated southeast ridge since the spring equinox it's believable The next far below normal cold intrusion is already on the radar for the first full weekend in May. Like clockwork since early January the most stable repeating pattern I think I have ever seen.

Guidance is helping us out trending the New England low further northeast next week which will help moderate the chill and add sun.
