Congrats everyone!  Wow at the yellows on the radar down there.  a really nice 5.5" here.  I'm not complaining.  Real pretty outside.  I leave in an hour and a half for Logan to fly to NYC.  Hope highways are cleared down there.

We didn't get alot of snow down here

Boston is up to 16.6 inches through March 3rd. Boston, NYC and Philly all reported low snow ratios for the 3/3 snows they received with much of the snow falling above freezing.

The warmth was too strong here in NYC and also Philly.

Boston has to be around 7-10 inches by now.

Really? Wow. Friend is a foreman for a DPW in extreme NE Bergen county. Says they got at least 6

I live in Brooklyn which is the south shore of the NYC area near the water.  The water influence is a killer here.

I do get lucky once in a while during big coastal storms but I usually get screwed  with sleet and ice.

exactly...nothing special here...I really really thought we had a good shot of at least 8-10...just almost never works out here

    Same here

Forecasted 6-9 inches. Received over 2 inches.

Hate to say I told you so, but two hours into this storm, it was obvious urban areas to the south would underperform.

Nothing complicated...it was just too warm.

Still 33F here. Even with 8 inches of snow on ground

    Yes it was

It sucks because this is the last storm of the season and it was a bust.

Forecasts I saw showed slightly above freezing temps were expected around the city but would be overwhelmed by heavy snow rates at night. Is it the heavy snow never came? Speaking just from my memory, when we count on very heavy snow to overcome temps it usually doesnt materialize. I always take it with a grain of salt.

I know some people will say.."they closed school for this??"

We did get into the heavy rates but it was sleet here. Northern sections of the area got more snow but nothing like what Upton predicted. The warming was too strong to overcome.

We need 850s below freezing and temps near freezing in order for the coasties to win.

Mayor and Board of Ed should have waited until 5am to make the decision to close the schools. I know, people will say they need to know the night before to make arrangements etc. I remember them making school open/closed decisions all the time in the early mornings.

They use to do that all the time back in the day. I remember waking up early to see if school was closed.

How much did you measure in Sheepshead ? Looks like 2 inches.

Just like the rest of this winter .. a huge BUST ....

The warmth was too strong for the coast. 850s were warmer than modeled and it never went below freezing here on the coast.

    SNE is getting hammered

    .NOW...
Snowfall rates will continue to increase through midnight with 1
inch per hour possible. There is also a chance for 2 inch per hour
rates after midnight. Many roads outside of Manhattan are
beginning to become snow covered and hazardous for travel. Roads
remain wet in Manhattan, but are expected to become snow covered
in the next few hours as snowfall rates increase. Use extra
caution if you plan to travel tonight due to snow covered roads
    and poor visibility.
