  1. I made a comment about the discussion you reply with a catty personal attack. Don't care if you've been here 20 years, are the site admin, or a mod, it was petty. I was trying to add positively to the discussion. Even if it was not the most profound or highest quality comment at least it was pertinent and not another shit off topic comment (kind of like this one, I guess). I'm not going to derail this thread anymore.
  2. Thank you for proving my point. People being rude to each other over this, no matter what side you are on, is wrong. 10 posts or 1000 makes no difference if you are just poisoning public discourse and has nothing to do with the discussion going on.
  3. The toxicity I've seen everywhere on social media over an EF rating while dozens are dead and thousands have had their lives changed is disgusting.
  4. Can't see much maybe a power flash or two but you can definitely hear a BIG ROAR
  5. I'm in the middle and to the north of both the warned storms, near the Lone Oak area. Decided to stay home today, hoping that the worst of it stays away from the house.
  6. I am going to guess on the high end with 1,621 total tornadoes and I am too late for the 1st high risk day but I will go for a total of 5 high risk days this year.
  7. They panicked and just kept getting stuck in the mud. Looks like they almost were overtaken.
  8. Almost right after my previous post the power went out.
  9. The power has thankfully stayed on for us and customers throughout the state without power have gone down about 50% from 4.5 million to 2.7 million. Still a whole lot of people without but doing a lot better than yesterday. Ended up getting another 3"+ of snow last night with totals from both storms at over 8".
  10. Hoping we are done with the rolling blackouts. The power has stayed on for 2 hours now, by far the longest stretch since Sunday night. We were expecting another 2" - 4" tonight and I have not seen a flake as of yet. 19°F feels downright balmy compared to this morning's -2°F
  11. Though some turbines did freeze, wind actually went over their projections this past weekend. Here's another good article on what actually broke down. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-16/frozen-wind-farms-were-just-a-small-piece-of-texas-s-power-woes
