Yeah it’s a complete reversal from last nights runs. I agree with you that the euro is going to be probably be not the greatest. The only thing we can hope for is everything to trend back in our favor before Saturday:

Basically Euro has snow starting in RVA Friday Early am to Sunday Am. There is a short break for like 10 hours or so between the storms but good lord. this is 2016 look written all over it. Maybe bigger.

Love what models are showing now. I hope we don’t see a repeat of last storm, models started looking hot days out then the storm trended inland few days before the storm hit.

Heavy Sleet/snow in Richmond now, that was a fast changeover. suppose to switch around 2pm.

At Hour 120 the low is actually slightly further east then 18z You can see the rain/sleet/ snow line drop very slightly in se va. not much change overall but I dot think it was any worse then 18z. IMO

Long time lurker here, can someone tell me why the operational model is so different than the ensembles? I thought OP was a blend of all the ensembles. 18z OP certainly doesn’t look like a blend. Almost all ensembles have low off the coast??

doesn’t look like it’s weakening on my radar. steady as she goes. We could end up getting a 8 inches out of this banding. Big winner is Fredericksburg, they already have 12 inches

Basically all the models now have at least from 3.5 inches to 13 inches for RVA.

Surprised nobody has commented. Did anyone just see the 18Z GFS? 8-10 inches Richmond/ Central and Eastern VA for Jan 3rd Storm. I know things will change but nice output tonight!
