  1. I think the laurels will get a nice measurable snow, but too warm here west at this point.
  2. Figures we were over the average the last few weeks when it was supposed to be in the 60's and nice autumn weather and now we're going straight to 50's. Ah well, can't have a winner fall like last year every year.
  3. Agreed, leaf peeping is to be done in jeans and a light jacket, not shorts and flip flops.
  4. Yesterday was grand, this week looks fantastic to give the HVAC a break. Hopefully the trend continues. Any thoughts on leaves this year? My normally vibrant maples in the back seem to be wilting and dropping with barely a hint of color. We could have just been spoiled last year.
  5. 9 times out of 10, I’d agree with you. But if you get a stretch of mid 70’s, lots of sun on the house, then a 80 day, that could quite easily translate to a sweaty afternoon inside. At least the next few days will be a good temp. I was spoiled late last week with low 70’s/high 60’s in the mountains as the high with a nice breeze and now I. Want. More.
  6. Late last week, it didnt look like we'd need the AC this week, but that ugly "8" popped back up at the beginning of the temperature for today and over the upcoming weekend. Sigh. Maybe soon.
  7. Over the last 2 days, according to my ambient weather station here in Ross, we got 3.60". My station in southern Somerset Co got 5.11". The local amish rang and stated we have "some cleaning up to do" from the creek that runs through the property.
  8. Hard to remember a night like last night. Storms seemed to keep forming over and over just west of the city. Like a previous poster, it was great to just grab a beer and sit on the porch after sundown. Looks like another stormy evening on tap.
  9. Ho hum. A whole lotta nothing in Ross north of the city. Quite a pleasant summer evening.
  10. Supposedly more activity this evening according to the central PA thread, but I’m not buying it till I see it on the radar.
  11. Mid August I start rooting for my favorite weather of the year - mid 60’s, light breeze, sunshine with cool evenings.
  12. Crazy storms overnight around 3:45am-4:30am here in Ross. Lost power briefly.
  13. Likewise, quite a lot of rain for a morning storm here north of the city.
  14. I just joined this forum this winter thanks to a friend and I can say that these predictions you bring from whatever these things are seem to be the best predictor regardless of the models.
  15. 4.5” here in southern Ross Twp at 9AM. Haven’t had anything else since. NWS says possibly 2” more, but I haven’t seen any of it. Im on Reddit as well, but haven’t found any weather forums like this.
  16. I bought one while HD was clearing them out due to the Lowes exclusivity deal at end of summer. I have EGO everything else. I've not needed a snowblower in the 8 years I've been in this house but I'm glad I pulled the trigger this year! It's "just" the single stage one (they came out with a 2 stage this year), but it handled the 7" and 11.5" here no issue this year so far, including the plow slush at the end of the driveway with zero - and I mean ZERO - issue. Much better than any gas blower I've used. Probably due to the torque of electric. Here's a video from the far north which convinced me that I'd be fine to wait until the end of snow to use it last week.
