Man, that early season heat out west is brutal. I can’t imagine the fire season they may have this year.

just finished a call with my teammates in Omaha.  They will have 105+ temps for a few days.  That will make it tough for the remaining teams in the College World Series.

What a great morning.  Cool and just nice out.

Weather looks great for today as well.  I get to drive a little west of @CAPE to watch my Daughter's softball game this afternoon. Should be great weather for the game!

Exactly 30 days from today I get to do something very few people at my age get to do.

    Retire at age 50.

I'm right behind you and not even close to being ready for retirement....Congrats!

Good afternoon all. Hope all have been well. :)

Life happened and I have not been on much. With everything opening up kids activities have gotten back into full swing and the Mom Uber is off and running again.

I did get myself a present though. My weather station has been slowly dying. The solar panel was no longer recharging and while I could have just gotten a replacement my rain gauge was having issues. Also I have always wanted a station that I can have my info online. So I just got and installed my new station today. Just finished with all the online set up and the link to it is in my signature.

    Congrats for rewarding yourself!

We should just throw out the criteria and arbitrarily name tropical systems.

A tad too far north- this one seems kinda fake to me..

kind of like comparing Jordan to Lebron.

I saw that featured but haven't seen it; I'll add to my list before my 6 month subscription ends.

Chernobyl was SO GOOD, you'll love it.

Chernobyl was really good!  Perry Mason was good as well.   You also need to watch Vice Principals and the Righteous Gemstones....some Danny McBride specials.

It isn't funny anymore so no jokes.  I'm sorry.  Sounds more serious than they want to find.  More money to now get someone else out who might know what they are doing.

I've got a guy....let me know if you want his info.

Replaced the capacitor on the heat pump outside. That was one of the things that my internet reading said was often the problem with the warnings the thermostat was flashing. Also cleared the drain.

I’m getting a little stressed through because the air coming out is still not very cold. Trying to give it a little time...

great!  When mine went up last year and i found a shop which sold me the capacitor for 8 bucks.  I replaced it, but it was the compressor, but not bad for a quick attempt.

Funny thing is....my neighbor just texted and said his upstairs unit has a leak....:-)

What’s this a/c crap?  Now see here, according to some of y’all I’m so old that back in the day the only cool air we could get was the in ground cellar where we kept the big chunks of ice. Didn’t help all my clothes were made of wool. We didn’t have no fancy cotton or Polly Ester brand duds

Ha!  We grew potatoes in our ground cellar...

Same here. It's not like I'm *that* old and grew up in a time when everyone fanned themselves and drank lemonade on the porch in the summer, but I did grow up more "working class" so AC was fancy for us!

You're lucky. My parents eventually got a window unit, so they closed their door at night and let the four of us sweat it out.

Not old enough for the lemonade, but we were definitely Kool Aid kids!

Preach. My parents would open all the windows on 2nd floor and set up a strategic arrangement of box fans in windows in an attempt to "make" a breeze where none existed during the worst of summer heat/humidity. Remember countless nights laying in bed as a kid, NO air moving in the house, sweating my arse off...  :(

Me too!  I also remember the many times when a storm rolled in overnight and blew the fan out of the window...scared the crap out of me every time.

The fire station siren at 2:00 am was also pleasant.

Funny thing is, my mother still has no central air....just 2 window units.

Nope. Ton where I work in Baltimore. Not a one up here.

I'm starting to hear them in the distance here.  I bet they make their way up there in a week or two.

I'm so glad...it makes mine, too, whenever I stumble across it, because I hate that whiny, bald-headed a**hole. Whoever thought that kid...not to mention his pliable, idiotically indulgent parents...would be a good role model(s) for anyone??

On a semi-related note, when I pulled that Caillou clip this morning, I ran across some "Bananas In Pyjamas" GIFs. Forgot ALL about that little slice of heaven. The Aussies that came up with that concept must've partook in some powerful grass from the Outback...

I was lucky.  My kids never wanted to watch Caillou.  :-)

Has anyone seen the show that replaced Calliou in Denmark this year?  It's worth  the watch.....

I hear you on that, Mappy!  I feel the same with my daughter...she graduates high school this Friday.  No longer little anymore! :(

Congrats!  My son graduates tonight...with 2 out of 3 now done high school, it will be a very quite house in a few years, unless the older ones are still at home paying off college loan debt.
