They ebb and flow but I’m encouraged by their play of late and there is better chemistry this year than last season.  Oh and terrible Todd is out as our coach so that helps.  Lol at the Penguins for picking him up.

i agree.  I only worry because of their age.  They looked very "OLD" the past two years in the playoffs.

I wonder what the effect of fog on an outdoor tv is. I know people have them, but you’d this that really moist air like that would have some effect.

This is why I went with a cheap Hisense model.  Our TV has not had any issues in the 3-4 years we have had it outside in the spring/summer/fall months.  I think I spent $140 on the tv compared to outdoor televisions which ran in the $1000s  range.

Good idea on the weatherproof cover.

We're thankful that we live in a safe neighborhood, so it probably wouldn't be an issue, but the general idea is to keep from drawing any unwanted attention since a TV may well be visible to passersby since it'll be out in the front of the house. We're probably being paranoid about that, but I'll do whatever I can to reduce "targets of opportunity." If it turns out that it wouldn't be visible, then I wouldn't mind leaving it out there, taking your advice on the weatherproof cover!

You can even put a mount up which will allow you to easily take the tv off each time you want to bring inside.

I also want to add a place for a TV out there that will just be connected via a FireTV - probably something small enough to move out there whenever the mood strikes to watch something, then bring inside in the evening.

I bought a cheap 40 inch Hisense during black Friday a few years ago and keep it attached to a mount all summer.  I cover it when not in use with a weatherproof cover I found on Amazon and have had no issues with it at all.  I bring it in each fall before the first freeze and it has lasted.  You could also look to get a cheap Insignia with FIreTV installed as well.

Temp sensor currently says 34, but man...stepped outside for about 10 minutes and it feels like it's in the low 40s. Already getting breezy again.

I took the dog out this morning around 5:30 and the temp was 26.1,,,,It sure felt like 26.1 at that time. :-)

Hopefully the sun helps get things warmed up soon.   Sure glad I held off on planting some summer bulbs this past weekend.

We may not agree on weather but we agree on this. Restaurants have bent over backwards to try to be creative and adhere to all the guidelines put in place yet they still seem to be singled out with the short end of the stick. Thankfully it looks like the beginning of the end is here. Maybe we’re already even past that. Unfortunately the mayor of Baltimore is still tying the hands of Baltimore city residents and owners but I won’t go any further into that. Anyways, yesterday was awesome. Spend the evening at the bo Brooks tiki bar which is outside. But I’ve been inside plenty of places in the last 6 months as well.

the only silver lining about this is that a lot of restaurants now can easily work the carryout/curbside method and that might make things better in the long run.  Sometimes I want food from a restaurant which never had a carryout option.  Now most of them do and my family will definitely take advantage of that.

Got an email from CCPS that spectators can now view sports indoors.  Carroll schools  also going 4 days a week in person starting Monday.

the 4 days a week starts for elementary and middle.  High school starts 4 days a week on the 22nd.

This week watching Soccer with the warm weather was amazing.

Glad to hear that you can get in to watch your daughter play volleyball.

It’s been nice. Took the kids to Christmas Tree Park in Manchester. Last of the snow hanging by a thread today...

I loved going there as a kid.  We would play baseball all afternoon in the summers and ride bikes through the woods.   I even helped a friend with his Eagle Scout project there when he created a trail from the pavillions down to the pond...I wonder if it is still there?

Y’all remember that time when Duke came back from like 10 down against Md with a minute to go?

    yes...not a good one.

Or when Maryland had a 20 first half point lead in tournament and lost that.

I have a few of the classic Speed Racer eps on DVD, too -- still love 'em. Honestly, I'm also a tremendous fan of the Wachowskis' Speed Racer movie adaptation from 2008...many fans didn't like it and critics despised it, but I feel its casting is spot-on and that they captured the frenetic, ADD-fueled spirit of the anime source. I regret not seeing it on the big screen.

I really liked it too...They did a great job with that movie!

My son has the lego mach 5 playset from the movie too!

So we'll have a nice Wednesday and then get backdoored Thursday night.

Looks to be in the 60s on Tuesday.  Good thing.  My son has his first Varsity Soccer game of the season.   I was expecting cold weather through at least the first two weeks they play.

    Go Speed Go ...

    Loved that cartoon

Good Ole' Captain Chesapeake and channel 45.  My mother claimed that I made her call the station when Speed Racer went off the air.

She also had to have it approved by HOA but they didn't raise a fuss.

I don't think that any HOA in Maryland is allowed to deny any solar panel request.  I'm on the HOA for my neighborhood and that was my understanding, so we rubber stamp the requests if the homeowners do submit a form.

I've always thought Mt. Washington was where the lowest temps in the US have been reported.  Just did a search and found this: "The coldest temperature recorded in the contiguous U.S. is 70 degrees below zero, measured at Rogers Pass, Montana, on Jan. 20, 1954. Not sure if it was the coldest but Mt Washington NH had a wind chill of 102 below f about 20 yrs ago. It was 35 below f with a wind speed of 95 mph."  I too thought the record was colder than this.  Then again, us humans tend to exaggerate from time to time, especially when it comes to weather.:snowing:

:-)  We were talking about it on a work call this morning and a guy I work with told me that it was -231 or something like that.  Not sure how you measure that especially since a lot of really old equipment might not be able to stand up to those conditions. I'll ask him where he got that nugget from.  He kind of is a CLiff Claven, but i agree that this is a little fishy.
