  1. Nothing interesting here other than a bit of freezing rain & sleet. Looks cool though I guess.
  2. Sounds a lot like how the recent storms have come in. This was after the snow from the 7th, its been much of the same.
  3. We have 0.5" here atm, also gotta say this is some of the neatest looking snow I've seen in a while, everything is glistening & sparkling under the light.
  4. Dang...its really coming down now, almost no visibility, gotta go out and measure. Looks like more heavy bands are just about to arrive.
  5. It's just starting back up now here in Calvert, pretty light at the moment though, I expected it to be heavier just going off radar lol...
  6. True, but that reminds me of that old news video where a reporter is interviewing a couple running in the snow, the woman says "good running weather" or something, then they resume their run and she promptly slips and hits her noggin run on the road lol, big oof.
  7. If it could just inch up a bit North so Calvert is a bit more in range, I'll be happy.
  8. Still going pretty consistently here, grass has been coated for a while, guess it might help that we're surrounded by cold waters.
  9. Coming down pretty quickly here, more than I expected anyways.
  10. Transitioned from graupel mix to all snow in Calvert, coating the colder surfaces, very steady.
  11. Thanks, I lucked out that night. Crazy how many power flashes there were, most of them caused the power to go out for a few min at the pier I was at...that unnatural blue light always feels ominous. The cam is an old Droid Turbo, it has a decent 4K CMOS camera, pretty water-resistant...unfortunately it creates rolling shutter distortion with lightning. I've used it for 7 years & it's held up, but the battery is going bad, it actually powered-off during that storm & corrupted about 90% of the raw video! Luckily I was able to have it repaired. I need to upgrade before next spring, something that can film lightning without distorting it so much.
  12. Nothing really of note around Southern MD either today, bit of lightning here & there...Last night on the other hand was pretty crazy. Pretty sure I caught a direct strike on a transformer, multiple power flashes, etc...definitely the strongest storm we've had down here so far. Here's a link if you'd like to see it.
  13. Oof, that same night on the 7th I was being sulky on here because it seemed the storms wouldn't make it to Southern MD...it actually ended up being a decent night of storms. Glanced at GRLevel3 just in time to run out & watch for a while.
  14. Wishing something would push South toward Calvert tonight. Been so long since we've had a solid severe storm.
  15. Those storms a bit ago looked nice on radar. Us in Southern MD have had very little luck with healthy storms so far this season...I assume its related to the waters stabilizing the environment. May have to start driving farther out to watch storms.
  16. Nothing here in Calvert. Potomac acting like a forcefield. Looked pretty decent on radar though, glad that some of us are getting some much needed excitement.
  17. Nice shelf cloud & a quick downpour here around SoMD, other than that...pretty weak, as usual.
  18. All clear here in Calvert, seems to be just South of us across the water. Lightning was pretty wild.
  19. Seeing as it looked pretty hopeless for storms in Calvert County, I went up the road a bit, definitely worth it. Impressive lightning. Apologies for the ugly banding artifacts, really need to get a DSLR camera.
