Seems kind of odd that there only 9,000 cases in a country of 330 million especially considering all of the high profile people who have tested positive.
Was there this kind of panic in 2009 with the swine flu ? Over 12,000 in the U.S. died in that outbreak. Although I realize the numbers are going up, 70 have died so far with this outbreak.
I don't understand why you dislike April and May so much. Temps are usually pleasant in Detroit with avg April temps around 60 and avg May temps around 70.
Raleigh NWS says due to a fresh snowcover they have cut back temps for tonight several degrees. But with a strong late Feb sun will there even be any snow left by the end of today? Ive noticed in the past that a late winter sun can do a lot of melting even with cold temps.
I honestly think its kind of silly to rush to the grocery store for milk and bread. Worst case scenario youre stuck at home until noon on Friday. With a strong late Feb sun I imagine there will be a lot of melting on Fri.
It just seems like theres too much uncertainty with this system to waste time and money driving 1,600 miles round trip plus hotel room. I mean maybe Elizabeth City NC gets hit hard but then again they may only see a few inches.
There is a dude on another forum who is driving 800 miles from Tuscaloosa, AL to Elizabeth City, NC. Have people lost their minds ? Is a little snow worth driving 800 miles for ?
I shouldnt really put much confidence into temps beyond 10 days. I guess im just ready for spring and hoping to see any signs of warmth on the horizon. It's depressing seeing high temps below freezing in early March. I guess at some point the longer days and higher sun angle have to make some kind of impact. Maybe by May we will hit 60.
I am just north of Indy in Carmel. Im hoping to see at least a couple inches out of this. It's been a very depressing winter. I wonder if theres any chance advisories or watches will be issued today ? Also I bet the lows will trend even colder with the arctic air if there is snowcover. Weather.com has me at 0 on Fri morning.
