Yup 42 here this am and barely breaking 60 for a high for the third day in a row. We had the coldest Christmas in 25 years!

Agreed, but it sucks when years ago a Jan thaw consisted of a couple days in the 40s.

I’m not sure that’s the case, we have had plenty Jan Thaws with temps into the 60’s

44F down here in S FL with a chance of Iguanas falling from trees.

You are quite the character.
So much rain, so much water.
Need to check out Diana’s Pool up the road on Rt 198 in Chaplin next to the Chaplin Fire Dept

Mount Hope River along Rt 89 in Ashford CT already flooding; power outages were the focus of concern now basement flooding might be a bigger issues
-
Kevin neighborhood flooding as he attempts to block his pack from going down the storm drain.

Almost time to hoist the Sultan Signal for some areas; nice band south of LI heading north

Merry Christmas all, front past down here temp dropping like a rock. Hopefully this is a bust for you guys and no more than a few scattered outages.

Heard from Family in Atlanta and Knoxville and both getting snow right now.

Quite the line heading north from DC; going to be some flooding in PA and NY

Can’t recall a storm in the recent past(and we have had some high wind events) where Eversource called ahead and said expect to lose power and potentially for multiple days. This blows. No pun intended, lol.
I think it’s a combination of making up for their poor restoration efforts earlier in the year and also being Christmas/cold

Quite the squall line on the Southern end of the front in N FL/GA. We are poised to have the coldest Christmas in S FL in about 25 yrs!

With our shitty infrastructure in CT, 45mph will do enough damage.

Hope so. The meso models are very concerning, global models just don't have the fine tuning mesos do. Point in time bufkit has issues with spatial fast moving lines. Let's hope you are correct Paul. Merry Christmas my good friend
Are the smaller rivers and streams free flowing, ie no ice jam concerns. 2-4” of rain with melting pack presents hydro concerns alone
-
Is see BOX has hoisted High Wind Watches for Eastern areas, I assume High Wind Warning for CT zones?

I know cold spell wasn’t long, but any Hydro issues due to ice jams in the smaller rivers and streams?

Are there any flash freezing issue after the front pushes through

Start taking temps down . Extensive Extensive deep snow cover of this magnitude at this time can definitely have change things up. I would be wary of any model outputs
Hope your felling better Steve. Models even pointing to a strong front down here around Christmas with lows into the 30’s; so no lack of cold air!

Box going 12 to 18 with amounts up to 20.. guess we wait to see the models today and how things play out but they seem to be going big
I would say 8-16 is a safe bet, anything more would be gravy.
