I hope we hit the 80s in March.
Start greening up the lawn before the near inevitable April blocking? Although if memory serves, last April was one of the nicest in a long time

Pretty much.
Hate to admit it, but I'm ready to stick a fork in it. Certainly wouldn't mind a big one the beginning of March, but I don't expect anything at the moment. I haven't suffered with a lack of snow compared to some, but the stop start nature of these winters is what starts to annoy me. The old car community is stirring as well, like they feel winter is just about done.

31” on the season in Shrewsbury MA
Yeah looking at that map again it seems a little low for my areas

Half an inch this A.M. and .25 yesterday brings me to 29.25 inches on the season in Westfield

If we get 4 more inches, that little tip in the southern berks will need to extend it's appendage into my area... just the tip

Picking up some. Steady SN at the house

Woke up to a half inch in Westfield. Didn't expect anything really. More than we had yesterday. Light snow and 25 degrees. SUPER fine flakes, almost looks like fog looking in the distance

We got a little taste of the pre-tech days a couple days ago on Tuesday lol. A couple inches at best with storm sliding south being forecast as we went to bed, turned into 12.5” here the next morning. Pre-Technology days at its best in the technology era
Unfortunately in my experience 9 times out of 10 it happened the other way... traumatic 80s winter memories lol. Dusting here last evening, and pretty strong gusts this AM

I mentioned this about the one yesterday happening before any good pattern set in, and it being gravy. It happened in a not so good pattern too. So now we are heading into a more conducive pattern…so maybe we can get another one to work out for the area….?
And we’ve had a few epic patterns the last couple yrs, that didn’t produce Jack…so there’s that too as we’ve seen.
Same with those that salivate over "epic blocking" More times than I can remember all that means is congrats Mid Atlantic

looks more like a squall line than a clipper down here. In and out.
Well sure. Mid level running north of us, surface too for that matter is a red flag for much here. I haven't seen any guidance taking this south. We'll probably get just enough to eff up the roads

2.5 yesterday and .5 early AM brings me to 28.5" this morning. 9.5" yesterday in Simsbury, but I haven't been keeping a running total here

Impacts are being felt down to the coast, which certainly isn’t “rural” New England

Yeah…maybe a 1/4” in Easthampton
I was wondering how you're doing up there. I just texted my husband at INSA and sent him pics of the 8 inches here in Simsbury. He can't text at work, so thanks for the update. Glad he won't have to drive home in much

Some of the heaviest yet in Simsbury now, about 4.75" down

I guess I'm getting old - we had t wait for Bob Steele to read out the names in the 70's on the radio every half hour. That was the only source.
They did that until a year or so ago. LOTS of complaints when they did away with it... but local radio has been cut to the bone financially

The rat is undeniable. When things are going bad, they go really bad. You’d be hard pressed to find a worse 25 month stretch of winter here
Not really, but it has been a long time
