Looks like some folks in the western piedmont-triad are going to stay in the 60s today! That is unbelievable for early August. -20 degree daytime departures from average just Wow

Was out of town but we picked up 0.11” Friday night. Seems we missed most of the big rain around. This weather has been perfect, though I was in obx last weekend and it was quite the nor Easter

Next 6-7 days almost looks fall like. 3 straight incredible days already, this is absolutely unbelievable considering where we were

Starting to see an uptick on models. Looks like two possible home grown systems then something from the MDR. August is here!

Only made it to 91.6 today. No measurable rainfall so we finish with 8.59” despite no rain the last 10 days of the month. Highest temp was 98.7

RAH has really backed off rain chances for triangle north today. 80% to 40%. Really need a good soaking 2 weeks without rain with daily temps around 100 has turned it extremely dry in a hurry. Went from not watering the first 3 weeks of the month to barely able to keep the zoysia happy with daily watering

My area stuck at .43" since June 21...yes, .43. With the heat too, we are crispified. My lawn is gone, no mowing needed this week.
You were complaining about your plants drowning last month now they are dried up haha. Think you also said “once the pattern breaks I bet it doesn’t rain for months” or something to that extent. Good call

The medium range actually looks quite pleasant for this time of year. This weekend having highs 15 degrees below average and lows pushing the 50’s in some areas will be incredible. Next week looks average to slightly below average on most models. Rain chances also come back

Amazing how quickly it dries out in this heat. Had an excellent rainfall month (8.59”) but we’ve gone since July 21 without measurable rain since and it’s gotten crispy

Maybe I’m in a cool pocket but we only made it to 94.2 today with a max HI of 103 (forecast was 98 with a HI of 110). Currently 93.1. I’m not saying it hasn’t been miserable but for 3 straight extreme heat warning days we haven’t hit 99 yet and our highest heat index was around 110 but that was very brief and the majority of the time it’s been 100-105. Still hot but not nearly as bad as the June heatwave at least IMBY where we exceeded 100 3 of 5 days and maxed out at 115 degrees heat index and crested 110 5 days straight!

Only 95.6 here today. Got an outflow from a cell a couple miles south and timing kept us from maxing out

98.7 today and honestly it’s sad that it didn’t even feel that bad. Just used to it at this point

I just want this summer to end quickly.
The humidity this summer has been off the charts. Today is a welcomed reprieve

Missed most of the rain yesterday just 0.04”. The front today has been quite pleasant after some early morning showers that didn’t amount to much but our temp has actually stayed steady near 79 degrees and dew point has finally dipped below 70 with a steady NE breeze

You can't loose this month. I got 0.62" of crumbs, with monthly total of 2.53".
We’ve literally had cells blow up over my house 3 straight days but the big deal was that large storm that came through yesterday evening. As rainy as it’s been here some areas west of here have double what I do bc of the tropical system that missed my backyard mostly. That makes this months rain more impressive to me bc all but about 1/2 an inch has come from afternoon storms and not a tropical system. I haven’t had to water the yard since the calendar flipped to July

At my location, the last 10 days have had an enormous contrast between the first 5 days and the last 5:
7/9-13: 6.35” total/rain every day with lots of street flooding and some flooding on my property/lots of standing water
7/14-18: only light amounts a couple of days totaling ~0.10”
Today’s rain brought me to 6.73” for the month but we’ve caught rogue storms a few times last 5 days. The widespread heavy rains have definitely been replaced with typical hit or miss storms during that period in central NC
