  1. I was told I should follow you on twitter, what is your handle? Your friends from the Central PA forum mentioned you. Always looking for good guys to follow.

  2. My wife just reported it had been snowing at home in Etown for a little while. Rain is getting heavy in Lancaster.
  3. What is his twitter handle? I always like finding good guys to follow.
  4. Horst was never a super frequent poster, but I already miss his weekly/biweekly discussions on the millersville forecast center.
  5. Does anyone have the new Euro maps of the Monday event only ? Wed storm obviously looking good.
  6. Hey y’all, I just wanted to thank you guys for verifying I am not the only completely insane person around. My wife and I were discussing possibly moving. One of my arguments for staying was the fact that we are on a north facing hill. Good for snow preservation and weather viewing.(I got a dirty look but it’s how I feel!) You guys were discussing things like this a couple weeks ago. Things like piling snow up, mowing the grass short etc. I just did my last mow for the big storm(maybe). Another strategy I have for larger snow piles is shoveling instead of using the snow blower. If I must use the blower, keep the shoot down low and never use salt before the storm. This is the view from the top of my property, very NW tip of Lancaster county.(Elizabethtown)
  7. I would really like to know as well, it is sadly missed for our area! I contacted Joe Calhoun on twitter last year and he promptly ignored the question.
  8. I work at a Chevy dealership in Lancaster and had to clean up about 120 cars this morning. Was not fun......caked on the cars pretty good!
  9. "The radar is currently down for maintenance" That's what it has said for three years. I think it should say "never coming back online." I would guess a major repair cost.
  10. WGAL used to have a live radar but its been down since 2017 I believe, it was nice for the Sus Valley.
  11. I feel like this is a good time to ask this question with squalls around. I live in the very north west corner of Lancaster county outside of Elizabethtown. When tracking t-storms, squalls, clippers, then the bigger storms from the south, etc, I have to bounce around the different radar locations to see what is coming and the returns aren't accurate half the time. I think a couple of you guys are in the same situation placed between State College, Baltimore and the Philly radar. What does everyone in this area use live storm tracking? Is there a best service/app that blends the radars and gives a semi accurate radar for this area? I asked Horst this on twitter and he said im in a radar hole, especially for squalls and t-storms.
  12. What a nice unexpected event this morning! It will be nice just to see some flakes. Waiting for the changeover in E-town.
  13. 4.5 1st event, 2.5 second, and 6.25 from yesterday, with melting and compaction I have around 9 inches of snow left as of this morning at 7am. Couple miles NW of Elizabethtown. Finally a cold week to enjoy it.
  14. Snow just started sticking on everything but the road and driveway a couple miles nw of Elizabethtown.
  15. NWS State College‏Verified account @NWSStateCollege FollowingFollowing @NWSStateCollege More #Snowsquall appears to be weakening - but that is largely due to distance (farther away) from radar. IR satellite data confirms squall has maintained intensity. Expect brief burst of heavy snow & strong wind gusts shifting east of US-15 through 12PM. #pawx
  16. 3-3.5 just outside of Lancaster City(Rohrstown Rd). I will measure in Etown when I get home.
  17. Looks like a couple inches for some of us today, maybe a nice squall line tomorrow and maybe some light snow for the southern half of the state Friday, plus the coldest week of the season. Not the worst week of winter.
  18. I was just looking at the radar, in and around Huntingdon Country blew up nicely. I went to school at Juniata, so I still always root for that area because I spent 4 winters up there.
  19. Good luck to everyone in the forum today! Whatever the outcome, it was fun tracking for a week.
  20. Did anyone see the Euro at 240. If that verified, I wonder what kind of surface temps would make it all the way to the Maxon Dixon. -20 or so??? Looks crazy
  21. Any thoughts on Euro? I only have what’s available on TT. Thought it looked colder, snow map not good though. Front thump must not happen for lsv.
