Alta and Snowbird just wrapped up a 90"+ week and 60 straight hours of interlodge. You snow weenies need to head west.

My brother’s friend clearing his driveway at Alta this morning.  Puts my sad sleet pile to shame!

What's up with radar? Looks like after this first batch of bs goes through it will be intermittent and showery. What a bust lol. I'll always remember the winter of the bust. Even the one 4" snow I got was flurries for 3 days lol

It’s filling in and getting heavier.  You have to remember that the image on the radar isn’t static.

I’m feeling confident of a GFS rug pull with the para trying to hold onto some hope.

The precip is already evident on the radar and it will be frozen in some form for basically the entire area.  No need to talk about rug pulls; it’s gonna precipitate.

Been nervous about posting these for well... a long time. But here's my best guess:

Nice clean format, and I really hope the 3-6" stretches down to include the 2-4" areas...those guys deserve it.  If I'm being picky I'd move the title over to the top left portion of MD/WV where no one lives or cares about (I kid I kid).  But for real.

The antithesis of you username is what we all fear, and your observation about the SLP trending further south and weaker only supports that. Those of us near or north of 95 are starting to sweat.

You should probably stop saying “we” and “us” when referring to literally yourself only.

  6. Just drove from Gaithersburg to Bethesda and back.  The interstate overpasses were sketchy, with one 5 car crash on an overpass over 270.  Another 2 car slide off on 495.  Seemed to be quite a bit of ice already sagging branches in Bethesda.  Glad to be off the road now.

  7. I certainly don't wish destruction on anyone, but I'm down for a bit of ice.  I lived in North Louisiana as a kid during 2 back to back ice storms in 1999 - 2000 and remember hearing pine trees snap all night.  We lived in the woods north of Ruston, LA and it sounded like gun shots every time another tree would snap.  Huge transformer flashes all night until all of Ruston was without power.  The lights stayed out for an entire week in December 1999.  It might sound awful, but some of our best memories are from that time all hanging out as a family - cooking meals over the fire place.

From the looks of it, 3” on the ground here in Germantown. I’ll measure when I find my way outside. Not bad. Everything is white.

That’s great! The rain/snow line must have predominantly held between G-burg/Germantown on the 270 corridor

If anyone cares about models anymore, the NAMs continue to look very good for the Winchester to Baltimore corridor

Once precip starts, I generally avoid models because I don't need that negativity in my life.  On jeb walks I never look at the radar either, for that same reason.  Sleet/Snow mix in Gaithersburg.

Hey remember we are not all as far north as you...What's happening in Fredericksburg, VA area?

Unfortunately you're in that "in between suck zone" where it might be too warm for wave 1 and wave 2 looks iffy.  Honestly though I wouldn't give up on wave 2...you might score some snow down there.
