New York City is about to get slammed! Flash flood warnings up

I think starting August 15th timeframe we should start seeing a decent cool down. Although I think we’ll still get humid warm days unfortunately. I wouldn’t rule out another heatwave around the beginning of September. I’m counting down the days that I sweat profously without even doing anything! Today was definitely decent but 84 and no humidity sounds a lot better and that’s hard to get considering that global warming is really kicking in this year. Whoever discounts global warming has some issues in my opinion! It’s very obvious that it’s happening!

The reason why I asked is the fact that our met office didn’t even post any chance of rain for my area last night and we had the nastiest lightning I’ve probably ever seen in my life. 3 people got hit by lightning and one is in critical conditions down here in New York.

I have a question for you guys... do you guys think life threatening lightning should be considered a severe thunderstorm warning?

I know that Willy but I think they have it wrong just like they had it wrong with not forecasting rain at all. I think a storm that size should be a severe thunderstorm warning. That’s just common sense people were severely hurt from the storm had a tree hit part of my car last night woke up this morning and it shocked me! Regardless I think they should change that. In fact I’m going to email them to request a change for that reason! By the way I love your pictures you’re very talented and passionate!

What are you talking about dude? Stick to taking pictures! Yesterday was as severe weather as you get! First of all they didn’t even have rain in the forecast! Never mind people got hit by lightning because they weren’t warned! Some of those people at the met office should’ve been fired simple as that! And tonight’s storms don’t look as vicious as last night but there’s a chance of a slight thunderstorm even for the city.

By the way I think we’ll get some decent thunderstorms here in the city later tonight around 10:30-11pm

The funny part is the weather channel didn’t have any rain for us until it started raining and severe thunderstorm warnings should have been issues! I’m sorry but a lot of guys in here are more talented than the professionals only because we’re very passionate about weather

Yesterday was worse!

Models are already picking up some cool fronts down the road. I mean summer is definitely not over but it for sure peaked so each day now losing daylight speeds up and that should effect our temps especially when this dumb humidity scoots south of us with some Alberta clipper type storms coming our away. Cooler weather is coming in the next two weeks!
