Exactly, it will become much more difficult for it to snow here. Virginia is what NC used to be like, chances wise. NC is like what SC used to be like. Keep shifting things a state down for each state. Warmer and warmer here.

Just needs a few runs to get to the GFS solution. It already made a huge jump from its previous run.

GFS has the right idea with the cold rain. Until I see it show a snowstorm within current range (< 200 hours) for more than 1 run, it is safe to assume it is right with this look. Snow really seems to be getting more difficult to produce south of DC now days and even they struggle.

Just wait until the next run, it will be 40 degree rain. GFS has been the only model showing winter storms this winter, for the most part. Just needs a few runs to adjust to reality for that range. 

18z GFS OP has dropped the idea of cold air in mid February. 40 to 50 degree rain on this run, board wide.

There was less cold overall on this run and it is suppressed. Is it not the case that a trend north would bring in more warm air?

Winters do not happen anymore in NC outside the mountains. Crazy how quick climate change has impacted winters here. Good snow storms went from uncommon to nearly impossible in the last 10 years. 

Who is ready for cold rain? Copious amounts incoming. 

Swing and a miss. Swing and a miss. Swing and a STRIKEOUT! Will we ever see another big snowstorm in the south again? Dealing with severe weather in the Carolinas in January haha.

We are just now beginning to move into a period where our most favorable climo can be seen on long range modeling, and while everything is not perfect there's more going for us than agaisnt us. You may well end up right, but this is the south no snow is always the best bet.
