Whatever happens this weekend their sure our a lot of possibilities. Rain ZR Snow flash freeze wind. Going to be interesting to watch this unfold and i hate to sound like a weenie but until the the disturbance rolls through Thursday night I’m not sure we can be confident in any track for the weekend storm

Seems that the weeklies/seasonal forecasts for end of January into February will be right based on what we're seeing show up now on the LR ensembles. WOOF.
It’s crazy. 10 days ago i was punting until the last week of January. Now we are on the board in a big way. More to track in the medium range and the long range looks dare i say Epic. An amazing turnaround

if ICON is right..it might be the worst ice storm off our life. 24 degrees during rain?
That would cause some serious problems. It’s been awhile since we have had a high impact ice storm. I’d prefer snow but the weather is gonna do what the weather is gonna do

This storm is nothing like that one. There is no ridge in central Canada that is going to shove the northern stream offshore before it can phase.
Yea i wasn’t comparing the two storms based on the pattern. At 6 day lead times this could trend a little worse or better and its too soon to throw in the towel.

The storm that just finished was projected to be rain just a week ago. It’s prime climo so it’s worth keeping an eye on the weekend because it wouldn’t take a huge shift to give us a snow/frozen event

Well that's a major disappointment after posters said RGEM looked better. Looks the same to me. Might even be slightly worse for the north folks.
Looks better around DC but Baltimore not as much

With the way the banding looks I’d expect more around DC....
6z was back when we were excited for 4-6 inches. The NAM was almost like a test by the mods to flush out the weenies. It worked on me lol!

I have lived in Montclair for 14 years. It is an awesome neighborhood. Hoping that the overnight Namming is accurate for MBY. Currently 29/20
It’s a great neighborhood. We moved here in 2016 in the summer so we really haven’t had decent snowstorm since we’ve been here. Some smallish events but nothing Warming level. Looking forward into it!

With those nice cold temps, you have solid surface frigidization.
That means that the snow will stick, from flake 1. And it will pile up.
And not to leave anything to chance I’m having my sister visit from Richmond this weekend. She had like a foot in December. Add that to frigidization and we are going to get shellacked

Not as many stars out. Groundbis frozen solid. Whatever comes our way the next 48 hours should stick nicely
