  1. Hey! That's a LOT better than the last few years.. y'all enjoy it. I really miss VA. Florida is cool and all but I will sincerely miss having 4 (3 really) seasons in VA. I still watch tropicaltidbits models like I still live there haha.
  2. I swear man as soon as I left y'all get are getting snow left and right. Albeit, it's not 6"+ storms but seems as if as soon as @migratingwxand I left RVA was cured of the snow drought. I've been down here in Tampa for about 90 days now and MAYBE 4 or 5 of them have been cloudy/rainy and that's for ONLY the first or last half of the day. I think I'm going crazy with the amount of sun and lack of actual weather aside from the cold snap that reached down here the last few weeks.
  3. Y'all should just start naming threads like they do.. they already do it... do it!!!
  4. Wow this thing really went kapoof in the matter of 48 hours. Richmond looked so good 4 days ago, per usual it just doesn't snow more than 6" there anymore. Maybe VA Beach will get 4" if they're lucky. SR models have this thing out to sea in 3 hours. Blows my mind... Who installed the anti-snow device in RVA???
  5. Yeah, big OOF. If any of y'all can, go ahead and drive down to KDH this weekend for fun!
  6. I lived in Richmond for 30 years.. soon as I left y'all are getting look after look after look. This one just doesn't seem to have the juice you would want at the moment for it to be anything better than MAYBE a 5-6 incher (and that aspect is not even looking good at this point). Could be wrong, hope I am!
  7. As an outsiders perspective this looks like it's going to be a swing and a miss for Metro Richmond. Virginia Beach may cash in slightly but we'll know more tomorrow. I'd say at best Richmond is looking at 2". At worst, maybe some snow showers and some bitter cold / wind.
  8. If I live in Tampa where should I talk about my frustration about the LACK of weather? I moved here in November and it has probably rained 4 times. This sun is driving me insane...
  9. You guys are looking better than I thought. Maybe 5-6 before swapping over at 3:45 - 4 am
  10. Man I was really rooting for you guys on this one. I was jealous for a good while since we moved 3 months ago down here. Starting to look like maybe even 2 inches is a stretch followed by a buttload of ice. I guess it really cannot snow huge amounts there anymore... I was telling my mom to stock up on a bunch of stuff earlier this week, now I'm glad I did for the ice that will happen but dang...
  11. TWO SNOWS WITHIN ONE WEEK TWO WEEKS AFTER I MOVE TO TAMPA. That’s it. I was the bad luck charm for Richmond. Wow.
  12. I moved from Richmond to Tampa last Friday. I am extremely upset right now…
  13. Honestly this is a good thing if it goes OTS. Some of the early tracks and rainfall totals for the western Carolinas was devastating. As much as I’d like to see some wind and rain, this may be a saving grace for those folks in the mountains.
  14. That gives me some sort of relief I guess. Hoping whatever forms shoots up the East coast into the Atlantic. Is that more likely to happen instead of a direct hit? Seems like the rest of the storms between now and then are making that curve. (I don’t know much about the tropics so please forgive my ignorance).
  15. So it's growing increasingly likely this will likely hit Florida? I don't follow the tropics like I did winter weather in the Mid-Atlantic.
  16. I'm going to Tampa from Aug 15 - Aug 22nd, the latest GFS and Euro models have me concerned. We are going down to close on a home (also my only vacation time of the year). Should I be concerned? I'll be so pissed off if the one week I chose to take off this year is screwed by a hurricane.
  17. It’s time for green gas, cold beer, baseball, grilling and pool time. This weekend the clock marches forward. The sun is at the angle that never pleases us snow lovers. It is time for warmth. Down here in Richmond, it was underwhelming incredibly but at least we got above our recent average. Maybe you guys up North a bit can lock one more minimal event again but it’s time for late days and GRILLING! Oh and of course March Madness. GO J-M-U Duuuuuuuuuuuuuukes (doubtful we get in but hopeful).
  18. It’s over gentlemen. I’m glad we got what we got but in retrospect it was incredibly underwhelming. The last system gave me around. 3-3.5” and it melted within 12-16 hours. It was like it didn’t happen. Incredible it snowed for essentially 14 hours and it was barely anything. It was around 25 degrees all day and even the roads melted at 8 am. Guess it’s the normal in Virginia now. I’ll be in Tampa this time next year. I hope you guys rock on and get pounded by a HECS next year, I’ll be rooting for you. Thank you all who have been here and interchanged thoughts and feelings. Miss you, RVA!
  19. Sounds like some people here need to join Reddit, sounds like a safe place for them.
  20. That's usually how it goes. Maybe I'll get lucky when visiting family for Christmas.
  21. This was looking like a real crap shoot at 3-4pm today. Seeing that backfill followed by bands of heavy snow for 3 hours just made me so happy, especially knowing this is likely my last snow storm in VA. I admired every single second of this event. Crazy to think it snowed for 12 hours and we only ended up with 3-5 inches board wide in the metro region. This was really fun at the end. Thank you guys for sharing this time with me.
  22. You should make it to 4. You’ll be one of the last in the area to see the last few flakes. Enjoy.
  23. Yep. Everywhere around here besides maybe Bon Air is getting absolutely dumped on. We needed this. The roads are perfect. Honestly I’m glad it held off until night time because the sun setting is helping tremendously with accumulations.
  24. About 4 miles east of ya, it is absolutely ripping harder than Cheech and Chong and Willie Nelson all combined.
