  1. Very impressed with Hood Meadows. We had to get there at 7:15 to avoid traffic chaos lol. Stayed in a nice condo about 30 min away. I guess people didn’t like the spring snow, because we actually only waited in one short line. Seems like lots of people left early. People said it was the least crowded Saturday since early season. Heather canyon is an expert skiers dream. Unfortunately they had about 12” of powder last weekend on glare ice on some steep bowls in heather canyon during the holiday weekend and 2 people died. Couldn’t see the ice under the powder and slid down into trees. Lots of serious injuries too. We found some nice bowl runs into the canyon with no ice and skied them over and over again. North facing slopes were packed powder due to low wet bulbs even though it was 40F. Sunny slopes were sporting spring hero snow. Very cool glacial valley. We had 5 bluebird days during the week overall and some fresh powder (8” first day, 1” 2nd day)!! Not your typical Pacific Northwest weather lol. .
  2. Sweet! How was the coverage on the steep stuff? .
  3. Hoodoo was so cool! $25 Thursday lift tickets. Amazing views of the Cascades! .
  4. Bachelor was great! Hitting Hoodoo tomorrow and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Sat. .
  5. Only 1/2” here in Albany and now sun is out lol. Boring!!! .
  6. Is that Middle Earth on Castlerock? We did that trail too. Sweet run!!!
  7. Hit Sugarbush on Sat and Killington today. Snow at Sugarbush was nicer, softer. Castle rock was a blast, just opened Thursday. Lincoln was crowded but Ellen wasn’t. Slide Brook lift was a blast. Just opened Sat cause they had to wait for enough snow underneath it for snowmobile access in the event of an evac. Still need more snow but a great day overall. KMart was firmer and no lines. Thank you Super Bowl. Woods in Ramshead were fun! Notched 20,000 vertical. Legs are shot lol. .
  8. Maybe he worked for Lyft? [emoji23] .
  9. Oh, and no lines at Gore today. Yay!! .
  10. Great day at Gore. 4-5” of soft snow. Some natural snow trails were open and skied well. Even skied a few nice glades. Blues had silky packed powder. Blacks were nice in the morning, then the ugly ice underneath started to appear by afternoon. Great day but as you all have said, need a big dump!!! .
  11. Might try to ski Sunday if there’s not a bunch of zr.
  12. Wonder how much freezing rain ski areas get this weekend. Doh!!! 3K NAM says a bunch. .
  13. Had a great day at Royal Mtn. No lift lines. About 5” Thu and 7” yesterday. They’re closed midweek, so snow was great. In the morning the cord on the groomed trails was the softest I’ve ever skied. Got 25 runs in. Only 500 vertical lol. Great day overall. Royal has some great lift line skiing and tree skiing but there wasn’t quite enough snow and they had trees and branches down in the woods everywhere from the last ice storm. Bummer? But great day overall!! .
  14. From my friends at Gore. “Traffic to gore was backed up for miles. We left here at 730 and at 10 we were still miles from the mountain - barely moving. Friend who was there said it was packed on the trails/lifts so we turned around.” Shoulda been 1:20 to Gore. Yikes. .
  15. My lucky son skied Bachelor last weekend. They've had 6' this week. He said powder was waste deep and he had untracked almost every run. A skiers dream!
  16. Yikes! What a melt!!!! This ski season is pretty bipolar.
  17. Looking at Killington's webcams this morning and it looks like the natural snow got decimated. Coverage in the woods doesn't even look good. Hey Scott, how did Stowe hold up?
  18. Cool video! Whitewater is on my bucket list. .
  19. I know, right!! They’re behind this year. Only at 107”. .
  20. Bachelor is on the eastern slope of the cascades, so they get some pretty good powder. Mt. Hood snow is usually much wetter. .
