Wow lots of 1-2” hail reports coming in 15-20 blocks north of me. Holy hell did I get lucky imby. 

We got some hail at my house but just pea size garden variety. Maybe a mile or so to my north got slammed though. Lots of heavy rain. Had to be close to or over an inch in about 20 minutes. Airport reported snow pellets. I think that’s wrong lol.

My wife and son got stung a bunch earlier this summer, we were driving back from Chicago and the rest stop playground in Mauston WI had a hive somewhere. 

0.26” event total rainfall here. Anything helps. 

Feels like autumn today. Spitting rain showers spinning in from the southeast and temperatures in the upper 60s. I love it.

This was looking like a nice soaking rain for msp a few days ago. Oh well, enjoy. 

Another afternoon above 90 here in Minneapolis.

A small little tropical cell popped up right over downtown Minneapolis last night. Best storm of the year imby, constant lightning and house shaking thunder, with winds gusted to around 45mph. My neighbors rain gauge recorded 0.51” however the airport obs site 1.5mi south of my house recorded 0.05” since the storm basically sat on us then dissipated. 

Temperature has jumped to 95 here in the late afternoon. Dew point has fallen to 56 though so kinda feels nicer out then earlier. 

Up to 93 this afternoon in Minneapolis. Dews are dropping off, we’ve gone from 72 to 63 the last few hours.

Got a decent shower imby but areas under tree canopy stayed dry. 

Tagged 90 here this afternoon.

Dews have creeped up to 70 today. Pretty miserable out there.

Chicagoland is due for it, you guys will get 80” and we’ll finish at 45” Mother Nature evens things out in the long run.

Toxic effects of road salt can happen with roadside trees. Sapstreak is a fungal disease they can get also. Or even a carpenter ant infection. Had to call in a 100ft red oak that near the crown was split down the middle. Could see it open and close a bit with the breeze. Massive branch fell this past weekend

No idea the reason for the damage or how long it’s been present. This is probably 10 blocks from my house. 3 consecutive summers of drought probably haven’t helped much. 

Had no idea there was smoke in the region today. Considering myself lucky the sky looks like this  here.

Wow the airport gusted to 54mph. There’s been very little wind imby and I’m only 1.5mi north of the obs site. 
 

Good quality 20min soaker. Lawn and garden definitely needed this. 

A few cells trying to get together across the western suburbs. Let’s see if I get anything in mby.

Edit: 19Z is more active for us. We'll wait and see, I guess.

It wasn’t even initializing with the ongoing convection last evening across central Minnesota. Head scratcher why the algorithms can’t figure that out.
