  1. October surprise...it was in the low 90’s (of memory serves me) 3 weeks prior to that and the lake was in the low 60’s!!! Quite a feat.
  2. I’m impressed that it is snowing in the end of April and is covering a large swath of the country
  3. Great call on the separate thread and one I thought we were well done with for the year.
  4. Yes and some of the larger sugar maples in the neighborhood are also leafing out. They’re small but definitive. It will only exacerbate the issue
  5. 1-2” OTG no matter, 4 or 5” on the trees and limbs...problem
  6. I think there’s a clear indication that the amounts in the advisory are a bit low as the NWS on their maps have raised the low amount to high end advisory and the high end to warning amounts. I’m waiting for the verbiage to change and bump up the totals to 4-8” area wide as they toy with a warning later today.
  7. Yeah I guess I’m taking BW’s stance in that it’s potential as a historical moment in our weather is the rush...if this was just white rain I’d say to hell with it, but model guidance is really trending towards low end warning amounts for certain areas...whether we achieve that is to be told.
  8. This is crazy...right?!?!?! Why am I oddly pulling for this
  9. Everything is showing a WNY special...which can only mean congrats to Toronto!!!
  10. I’m smelling an overarching event. NWS discussed banding of 1-2” an hour snowfall rates after midnight tonight. Pardon the term but this is the perfect storm scenario.
  11. I brought this up earlier today. This could have wide ranging effects that would crush the cherry crop, and possibly the apple and peach crop as well. This is a terrible time for this.
  12. Nam would be a crush job for the Niagara Frontier, but alas, it’s the NAM so carry on...
  13. 6” of true paste on these limbs could be bad. There are many more trees than I thought that have good foliage on them. No it’s not full but it’s definitely more weight than completely bare winter time limbs.
  14. It’s a warning event because it’s out of season. This isn’t so much about what’s on the ground as much as it will cause to all the flowering trees ( cherry mainly) that could get wiped out of their crop this year.
  15. This is beginning to look like a flush hit Tuesday night Wednesday morning. Couldn’t be worse timing as there will be no help from diurnal effects. Concerned that many trees have begun to bud and that much extra weight could cause widespread power outages. If we reach 6 “ that could be the case.
  16. All 3 major models are in relatively good agreement on this system. One more 24 hour run and there will probably be a WSW hoisted tomorrow at the 3pm update
  17. It’s not unprecedented for these parts but to go from 80+ to possible WSW in a weeks time sure is the cherry on top of this whole shit pie the last 12 months has brought
  18. Ughh...this is the payback for the low 80’s 2 weeks ago
