Anyone else noticing the MCS heading this way over southern Ontario?

I can’t be certain but I believe that happens quite a bit with storms over the lake…and oddly there was not a stiff SW wind to shred apart the storms either.

Yes and headed right for us. In fact this evening’s forecast was very poorly handled. At 749 the NWS text read the storms over southern Ontario MAY clip the waters of Lake Ontario…

Sooooo…if Syracuse Sizzles what is KBUF known for? It is 51 in Williamsville, 47 in Lancaster and somehow 56 at the airport which is sandwiched between both locations…I’ve heard of the urban heat island effect with all the concrete and steel structures maintaining heat through the night while suburban and rural areas have more radiational cooling…but this doesn’t fit that bill…the only possibility is the size of the runway which is all concrete and spans a couple miles in 2 directions? If any one can explain this please do because just makes zero sense

This whole area from NJ north west to NYC has been pummeled the last few weeks. I saw somewhere earlier this week NYC was 9” rainfall above normal YTD and with another 4” or so they will be close to a foot for the year above average.

That fire was right behind Stumpfs Gymnastics on Wherle Dr in Williamsville. The teams had to be evacuated around 5:30 and the fire was shooting 20 feet from the building. There were numerous hook and ladders all around the structure as we were no more than 200 yards from the fire. If that wasn’t incredible enough, I counted 3 planes fly right through the thick black smoke plume…very confused about that. Wondering why KBUF didn’t switch the flight pattern.

Lockport, I believe, has had approximately a foot of rain in the past 2 weeks. That’s a 1/4 of the yearly total in 14 days

this happened last year in the now famous 3 to 5 degree boost KBUF was also getting that no reporting sites around were at. It was questioned by one of our bloggers and it turned out there was an issue with the sensor…but they stated it was only a week or so and this was late august I believe. However if you look back at the 98 and 97 degree days, last July 8th and 9th I believe, you’ll see the surrounding temp sites were in the low to maybe mid 90’s. I can’t say this is a falsified reading out your way but it is quite conspicuous. And don’t make me bring up the measurements at KROC…

Crazy! That Williamsville E location was at 2.13 at 830!

I’m right in that 2 to 3 inch area of Erie co. My pool is at the rim, water pouting out of the skimmer, I am draining it but it’s not fast enough. Heaviest rains about to come through and get hopefully a break
