  1. Blog post:

The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. I got about fifty feet out my door and suddenly, the great beast appeared before me. I tell you it was ten stories wide if it was a foot. As if sensing my presence, it let out a great bellow like a freight train. I said, "Easy, big fella!" And then, as I watched it struggling, I realized that something was obstructing its circulation. From where I was standing, I could see directly into the eye of the great storm.  Well then, from out of nowhere, a huge tidal wave lifted me, tossed me like a cork, and I found myself right on top of it - face to face with the funnel cloud. I could barely see from the waves crashing down upon me, but I knew something was there. So I reached my hand in, felt around, and pulled out the obstruction.  A hotel roof.

What a torch zone the Champlain Valley is... low to mid 80s still.

Once into the hills east of the Spine, it cools off pretty decently... low 70s here along the valley waterways in the interior.

DILF Khakis and GILF shorts for the win.

Either would work today.  It is a COC day up here today!  The air felt great this morning with all the windows open.

anyone not installing ? (I.E Cheap)

I thought about getting the fans out of the basement the other day but haven't yet.  I am still being stopped by my wife from opening the windows at night due to the pollen.  I may or may not be opening them for an hour or two in the morning before anyone else gets up.  I am saying I have been but ain't saying that I am not.

Not to hijack this thread but May is about over.  Speaking of electricity.  I pay 14.7 cents Kwh.  I have a Prius plug hybrid.  First 25 miles pure electric and then the hybrid engine.  Just drove from my house up to Plymouth center NH and back.  25 miles and that uses up a battery worth of electric.  Takes 6 Kwh to recharge.  So that is .88 cents of electricity.  What does the average car get  25miles per gallon, maybe 35?  That would have cost me  $2.79.  Most of my driving is within 25 miles a day but even once I use up the all-electric still getting well over 50mpg.  Love this car  (except it's front wheel drive and has a low base) and in NNE that is a no go you need a truck or at least all wheel drive.

FWIW Toyota put out a AWD Prius for 2019 model.  It gets about 5 mpg less than the FWD but is still over 50 mpg.  Base height would be the only issue.  I only run into needing to take the Subie for my 60 mile (each way) commute through NNE on about 5 days a winter so far.

God f*cking dammit there goes that argument .

No way in hell she's going anywhere on the mountain though.  I've heard the even bigger tourist draw is those looking to visit base camp, which it appears celebrities are now doing.

I guess in 20 years Richard Branson will be taking people like her into space for tourism, and then we can have that discussion... only a matter of time.

Per Daily Mail, she already took a helicopter out to Kathmandu.

  10. As I posted in another thread, Eye in the Sky reported this morning that they got 3.22 inches overnight at the Fairbanks Museum in St. Johnsbury which was the second most in 24 hours in May, only behind the flooding T-storms in 2011.
