  1. "Still analyzing incoming model data for the potential for storms today with several
different camps out there, the HRRR being the most aggressive
breaking the cap later this afternoon with more models seemingly
jumping on board. Still difficult to discern when/where
convection will pop, but if it does it will likely go severe
rapidly. We will continue to monitor"

Just musing: Something strange is going on with the numbers, something I've noticed for a while actually.   It feels chilly when above normal now -

Some of that, I suspect is because as noted over the recent 10 ... 20 years of global climate monitoring, and is showing likewise in local numbers, much of the above normal results have been because of the nighttime contribution, which have been the warmer of the night vs days.   If it's 50  for a low, and the average low is 44 ( say..), but the next day is 70 when the average high is 69, that's almost unknowable to the average civilian just how warm it has been.

But when it is perceived chillier, wind of any amount will tend to gnaw at one's nerves.  Irony is that wind at 50 or 44 at night is going to suck either way.  It doesn't have to even be windier than normal.  Moving cold air is unpleasant.

Or you are just getting old

Not sure about surprised.  I new we were on the line and could go either way.  Probably disappointed is the closer reaction or maybe sadness and disgust for some. :P

Probably the worst drive of the season,  Few plow trucks out there on the interstate (1-89).  Up to 6' of slush on the highway, just one lane usable in most sports due to depth of slush, many people without winter tires on.  I say one truck one its side and 5 or 6 off to the side of the road, many cars off the road too.

I still have the studded Hakkas on the Subaru so I felt fine but couldn't pass much due to the conditions in the passing lane being too bad.

Lots of people from away bought lake front houses on private camp roads during COVID and are finding out the hard way about mud season. You can't live year round down a half mile dirt road that drops 200 feet to the lake and drive a Prius. Not happening.

    Sure you can:
