Pretty small flakes
-
All snow in the west end. Coming down good but not heavy enough to overcome temps and the wet ground
-
HRRR still has RVA getting about an inch. Euro is a big no for Saturday. Even SE VA is a 2-4, 3-5 storm
-
Going to take some heavy rates to get some accumulation. Have to go pretty far north and west to see temps at or below 32
-
Back to more mixing in the west end. More 50/50 rain snow mix
-
Yeah was mixing pretty good in the west end for awhile. Now back to mainly rain
-
Seeing more flakes mixing in in the west end

Mainly rain here but seeing some flakes mixed in

Is it the infamous, always talked about but rarely happens, pattern breakdown beatdown storm? Going to be another week of tracking, which is better than last year.
Possibly. We’ll see. Pattern still looks to breakdown early February

Ensembles have been showing the idea for a storm next weekend for awhile now. What actually happens? Who knows
-
For me it’s 2 feet of snow or bust lol

Just making sure I wasn’t missing anything. Hope you’re right. Seems to be NW trend

12Z GFS is fun to look at for next weekend. Would be a monster of a storm. Too bad it isn’t going to happen

Haven't seen any flakes yet in my part of Glen Allen ..Still sitting at 40 degrees but def a little cold breeze starting to move in..
I can't see getting anywhere close to the amounts modeled .. It looks like it's still raining all the way back to Lynchburg VA still
Agree. We’ll see but the cold air is coming in a lot slower
-
At work in the west end and every now and then I can see a flake or two mixing in

Is it not already “late”?
Last minute then. Kind of like with todays event. Models started amping up todays event last night.

NAM seemed like moderate to heavy snow here from 3-5?
Think they’re could be a 3-4 hour period of heavy to moderate snow, according to the NAM
-
Looking like a 2-4, maybe 3-5 in SE VA. See if we get a late NW trend
-
Latest HRRR has about an inch for RIC which seems more realistic unless this amps up some and we get some heavy rates

12z NAM was better for Saturday but still a no for RIC. Shows us getting 2-3” today. We’ll see
-
Looks like today is going to bust for our friends to the north. See what happens here
