  1. Breeze is picking up, trees moving a little. Not good. .19 of ice already and plenty more to come.
  2. Just walked the dog. Car is caked in ice. Trees and power lines have good layer on them already. Anything that hasn’t been treated or that was slushy has turned slick
  3. I’m at 30 near willow lawn. Believe the airport is at 31
  4. Southern VA getting hit the hardest with power outages because they’ve seen freezing rain longer than we have. Sadly that will change for us
  5. Treated roads and roads that see traffic should be okay. It’s bridges, overpasses, side roads that will get hit the hardest
  6. All models showings at least .50 of ice. Buckle up folks. Hope everyone is prepared
  7. When we start to get heavier rates that will halt temps from rising
  8. The only model not showing us getting around .50 or more of ice is the HRRR. That’s very concerning
  9. Looking at radar it looks like it’s right on our door step already
  10. RDPS is the heaviest with .82. Hopefully that won't be right
  11. 00Z GFS stays at 31 throughout the entire event. Gives us .50 of ice
  12. Yes, roads are slick already. Roads and sidewalks are going to be like ice skating rinks tomorrow.

  14. HRRR is warmer and not as much as ice..we go ice to rain and back to ice. Every other short range model still has significant ice storm
  15. Yup and like I said, Wakefield is usually very conservative when it comes to big events so for them to issue their first ever ice storm warning, that's telling
  16. Yeah ever since the model let him down and he got burned by it it’s like he’s angry at the models now and doesn’t want to trust them. Now he’s not saying there won’t be ice but he is downplaying the ice storm warning
  17. Looks like all 18z short range models are still showing a significant ice storm
