GFS goes crazy with 12” RVA, 15” in Short Pump. Would love to see it but have a hard time buying it giving the warm ground we have.

Monday could be interesting around here but as always temps are an issue

Given recent weather and winters, I will be happy with some flakes whether they be mood or grill and mulch coverers. We never seem to do too well with cold air chasing moisture setups.
Agree. Not getting my hopes up but will be happy to see some flakes.

Possibly severe thunderstorms on Thursday with snow possible Friday. Sounds about right for March in VA

Another cold rainy day. I’ll take it over ice though

Switched back over to freezing rain

Still sleeting pretty good here. Roads are completely covered and icy
-
Now seeing heavy sleet near willow lawn. Sleet will cut back on ice totals but will make roads more icy
-
Thunder ice being reported in southern VA

No sleet here. All freezing rain

Yeah definitely not good for them, looked to me that RIC metro and points west and north seem to have .15”-.25 cut
Right now it’s on its own with that so take with a grain a salt. NAM also may be seeing more sleet for us so that would cut back on totals. I haven’t seen a NAM sleet map

I was just about to say we may get out of this lucky haha - looked like less frozen and cutting ice totals on NAM by a bit (at least what was posted in the main forum)
Not really. It just shifted the heavier precip south. Petersburg still gets crushed

18z NAM with .6 of ice

anyone know where to get the sleet maps? trying to see through 15z tomorrow when the freezing rain starts accumulating (~.1" at that point)
I think WeatherBell offers sleet maps but you have to pay

NAM showing about .4 of ice. RDPS shows almost an inch
-
If I’m not mistaken I believe every model has us getting at least .50 of ice. Prepare today!

It will probably help that most of this will happen overnight/morning. GFS is showing some crazy rates which would help with accumulation if that happens.
