Kind of in a hole right now. Somewhat light.
Same. Pretty light stuff

Despite all the warmth I am seeing my street start to cave.
-
My road looks like it’s trying to cave. Mainly snow, some pingers

Still mixing back and forth here in Glen Allen... More snow mixed in now. I honestly don't think we will fully get rid of the sleet/mix for this whole storm looking at the reports north and west.. Prob will continue to mix in at times
Nice snow burst as I type
There will probably be periods of sleet mixing in throughout. Coming down pretty good right now. Mainly snow
-
All snow now, coming down pretty good

HRRR still pretty bullish. Starting to switch to mainly snow, some sleet in the city

Back to snow/sleet mix in the city. See if it stays or goes back to rain/sleet
-
Classic rain/snow line in RVA. Just even a couple of miles makes a difference in what weather you’re seeing
-
Going back and forth. One minute and it’s snow/sleet, next minute it goes to rain/sleet

Nah not yet... Still flipping back and forth here in Glen Allen...
snow/sleet mix near downtown

Snow/sleet mix now
-
Getting heavy sleet. Maybe we’re finally making the transition in RVA

I dunno about 6 plus in RVA more likely between Ashland to Fredericksburg
Back to mainly sleet being my area exactly why I don't think it will be 6plus here Switching back and forth from sleet & snow
Thought we were transitioning here in the city proper but now looks like we’ve gone back to plain rain. We’ll need some heavy bands to come through if we’re going to get 6+. I’m still thinking 3-6
-
Almost every model now is giving RVA 6+. We’ll see if they are right. Going to need some heavy bands

Slowly transitioning to snow. Rain/snow/sleet mix in Scott’s Addition
-
00Z GFS again went bonkers. Euro and UK gives RVA metro 4-8. Latest HRRR gives us 10-12. We’ll see. Basically now casting time
-
Getting a little cooler with the rain

GFS has been all in for here for a few days now. 0z actually ticked a tad south from 18z just now. So I think we are solid for 3-6
Would gladly take 3-6 all things considered

Latest HRRR keeps warmth around a little longer, cutting back totals

We could also be in late March and dealing with sun angle issues. This is the best threat for the area since January 2019.
Agree. Best threat we’ve had in a long time. Hope im wrong and we get measurable snow

Still in the 60s at 430pm . Now that the sun is about to set hopefully we see a good steady drop.. unfortunately it dosnt look like it will really drop until the 2nd batch of precip comes through early in the morning
This is why I’m not expecting much out of this storm. Snow will fall but will be battling a very warm ground. Maybe if it snows hard enough that will help overcome that. We’ll see

Exactly.. an amped up storm with these marginal temps normally means...it will pull in more warm air and keep the precip mostly rain & sleet .
Would be nice to see a big event but a 1-3 event still seems most likely to me. Hopefully we get at least that. Anything more is a bonus imo
Agree. Hoping the models are a little over amplified. We want an amped storm but not too much

If the NW trend continues we’ll be looking at more rain/sleet
