  1. Thanks! Loved your snow squall pics and play by play last week.
  2. For once the northern trend might work in our favor.
  3. No doubt. Avula has to be reconsidering his career change getting hit with this in the first month. Working downtown today, brought my own water but now apparently, pressure becoming an issue in the building and without restrooms, will have to head home.
  4. Pretty coating to half inch to cover the slush puppie so with a fire going in the fireplace, will not complain.
  5. AKQ continues to dial back any accumulations for this evening. Forecasted for about an inch, I will be ecstatic if we get that. It is rare, at least in memory, get that wrap around that the models always call for.
  6. A post by Midlo? Now it’s a storm and I can try to go to bed.
  7. They will be jumping out windows if that plays out.
  8. Deck caving, a dusting a this point in Tuckahoe, moderate snow
  9. Agreed. At least to end the drought, you have to start somewhere. if frustrated, I recommend staying out of the “main” thread tomorrow as we navigate our slurpee roads on the way to work, it will kill you to read about them ripping fatties up there and still won’t be satisfied with 6-8”.
  10. Yeah, seems low, NBC12 went with AKQ 3-6”
  11. Agree, get us 3-4” with a hard candy coating that will last…until Saturday when WE get thumped.
  12. If I remember correctly, the mets in the main thread state it's wheelhouse is 36-48 hours. Believe they just stated how precip happy it gets, a popular phrase is "getting NAM'd" in the main thread as it always shows a lot but rarely verifies.
  13. 3 years to the date that RIC measured over an 1" or 1,095 days. Might be the same for you in the News.
  14. I can’t say for sure, not nearly as versed as Midlo and RIC at reading models but yeah, taking the same “don’t go breaking me heart” approach
  15. Wow, may have to go to main thread and witness the classic meltdown, Ji posts a plenty. However, this seems to be following our script to a T, bullseye 7 days out, trend north leaving us with a slurpee forecast, then teaser tick south only to jackpot them again in the end. But with what has been posted, insert The Godfather III gif here of pulling me back in.
  16. Well, now WE know something is going to happen...we are in the bullseye 6 days out and they are freaking out in the main thread. Which means, it will inevitably trend north and all their whining would have been for naught and we will have mixing issues.
  17. Signs to have hope for sure. I have been waking up and gauging by the number of posts in the medium to long range thread, typically, the more posts the better.
  18. Heal up RIC Airport and take care of yourself, you keep this little sub-forum we call home going.
  19. Ah, the thread is awakened...thank you RIC. Crossing fingers for next week, time on the calendar (near the 5th) checks. It's been too long since we have been able to do this...
  20. I have been an O's fan since 79 when they lost to the "We Are Family" edition of the Buckos. Last year, hurt but this one hurts a bit worse. Agree with most in here that I don't think Hyde is the problem. Loved Big Ben's call yesterday, Mullins HR was right on cue. Also, pointed out Adley's hesitation, more than once. Admirable job calling both games without being too much a homer. Hoping next year's edition stays healthy and I will gladly give up early season success for getting hot after the all star break.
  21. 20th Anniversary of Tropical Storm Gaston dumping on RVA. I work downtown and I remember we had just completed some Cisco Training, it had begun raining hard in the afternoon. When we saw traffic was not getting out of downtown, we took refuge in The Tobacco Company. We drank as we complained about not being able to get home but I had not idea just down the street, 3 blocks away, people were dying being swept away by the water. I had no idea the magnitude until I got home around 11PM that night and watched the news.
  22. Good luck on the retirement landing search @vastateofmind keep us posted as I am just a few years out from doing the same. Emerald Isle would be first choice but looking along the coast, depending on where kids permanently land.
