  1. Nice surprise this morning waking up with that glow through the window. Earlier onset than expected.
  2. I would say the airport has been much better as of late and you have none other than our short timer, RIC Airport, to thank as he helped get this corrected. Since the 1996 debacle, I believe he was integral in getting them to move location of their measuring station.
  3. Ah, that's better, like Molly Ringwald, I feel all Pretty in Pink.
  4. Can't recall ever closing still under a Watch but I went to HCPS in far different times.
  5. I think they are in the midst of changing...I went to WTVR and NBC12 and maps are either hard to find or taken down for updating.
  6. He is. He also knows the coastal area pretty well. He is the most seasoned remaining once Duncan stepped down and then rejoined 6 part time. Like I said, 12 hugs the Euro like clockwork. I don't watch Zach on 6 too much but he seems to know his stuff as well. Bernier and 8 taut their most accurate award for several years running, I just don't know who awards those. It should be us.
  7. Agreed. I know 12 rides and dies with the Euro but sincerely hoping 8 is right and would rather change and provide accurate info. Fingers crossed.
  8. Will it be enough to push AKQ to go to Warning for Metro RIC, Henrico and Hanover?
  9. Come on Bernier, hike up those sukt pants a little higher and be right.
  10. Just reading the annual, sometimes more than annual, demise in the main thread. Again, since we have to depend on our little thread here, and I am worried with RIC_Airport moving, time to thank Inudaw, red tagger, for posting in here. I forget who it was in Chester, not DT, but it was similar handle to WxMan1, another red tagger we would get from time to time and I miss Heidi the Horrible from Cville. Now, with Bob Chill in VA and cameos from Midlo, maybe this thread will stay alive and keep me out of the main thread more.
  11. I guess only hope now is that it’s over advertising the polar vortex. I know we have had some cold air invasions this winter but have they been as forecasted with the strength?
  12. Since we are not just winter here, that was quite an impressive frontal passage. Faster than I expected but I had a gust close to 50mph in Tuckahoe. Did hear a transformer go, which is Tuckahoe MO.
  13. Yes, thanks Bob Chill! So glad you pop in from time to time now that you are a Virginian! Hope things by the lake are well!
  14. Looks like NAM wants to PDIII us, expected big accumulations called for days in advance only to have a sleet fest. Again, I can just read colors and have no met skills whatsoever.
  15. Sincere condolences...hope he was at peace and that it was at an end of a good, long run of life.
  16. No way yoda, number of times we out accumulate you is like comparing Pens cups to Caps cups, not fair. Although, liking this season.
  17. To the northern shift...Euro says no and RVA says...
  18. A little closer with the mix line than models from yesterday but I know for big numbers, you need the juice.
  19. Fingers crossed that we all score, including our southeastern contingent, but hey, rest assured that during the spring, summer and fall months, I am jealous of you, Chris624 (sic em Dawgs!) and StormPC because you all are closer to where I want to be, the beach.
  20. This MUST happen. It's a moral imperative. One thing to break the 1" drought. Another to have a few minor events and the cold we had in January. However, if we get a bona fide, actual snow event without threat of mixing and break the 6" drought, I will label the winter of 2025 acceptable.
  21. Yeah, see my previous post, there is stuff going on today affecting a lot of businesses. Delayed email or not getting delivered, circuits flapping, I know a major artery for internet up and down the east coast goes through Ashburn and they were have trouble earlier, still must be.
  22. Yeah, heard transformer, at least one maybe two, go this morning in the Tuckahoe area. We flickered but then I had to come into the office. Major internet outages happening though, might be sourcing from Ashburn.
  23. Short Pump used to be a tiny little town in Henrico, where I grew up and still live. It’s now urban sprawl all to it’s boundary with Goochland. Lots of housing and shopping. Short Pump Town Center is about the last good brick and mortar mall around. A bunch of people live there and work at either Capital One or CarMax hq’s in Tuckahoe Creek nearby. The traffic blows and I avoid it like the plague unless I absolutely have to go there. A lot of people are landlocked due to jobs, older parents to care for, kids and what not so to suggest people are too lazy to move for snow is asinine.
