If people were being honest with themselves, they’d accept that it’ll be April in two weeks and this is over. It’s time to switch seasons and thinking.

Yep. Been over for a while. A few weenies will hold on until we can talk severe weather and hurricanes. See y’all next “winter”

I actually disagree with this. I feel like models have been relatively locked in from inside 7-8 days. We haven’t had anything besides the ULL low that made it inside medium range as a threat. Beyond 7-8 days as has been and, for the foreseeable future, will always be fantasy land. The only reason people strayed into fantasy land this year was there was literally nothing interesting to talk about inside the fantasy range. Overall though, I think models did a great job inside a week, the only issue being they collectively and correctly eroded weenie hope every run once anything got into that range.

The major SSW event was really the only thing that kept this forum entertaining for the last month bc there was just nothing else going to give us hope in the sh*t patten we were stuck in, so all of GA’s posts were much welcomed even if nothing really panned out as far as sensible weather impacts for our region. Winter 2022-23 will forever go down as the winter that never happened (I think I saw RDU finished with 22 of 28 days above average in February)

This is exactly how I feel. Never even had anything to watch inside a week for my area.

Yes winters in the south east reminds me of the commercial with the man with the fishing pole and the dollar bill on the line.  You almost got it. To often we get our hopes up and get the rug ripped out from under use like a day or two out.

Bring on the warm temps and longer days. Soon fish will be biting also.

This winter has to be the worst. We really never got a real threat. This ULL was a Hail Mary And I think the only thread that got started this winter outside the mountains. Brutal. The weenies have been crushed including me

Good, then why are you still here trolling everybody else? I don't want to see any posts from you when there is a valid threat. Also, I don't appreciate being called a weenie for remembering that it's still January...... SMH.

Man , I truly didn’t mean anything bad toward you at all. I call myself a weenie and post some of the negative stuff just trying to get the conversation going some. I can see why you took it that way but I call all of us weenies for chasing snow that rarely comes . I’m truly sorry everyone took it that way and will stay away from negative post in the future. I mean this sincerely. Sorry again

Looks like next Sunday may have some legs. Cmc showed a widespread winter storm, mostly ICE, now 18z GFS showing not a major storm but some snow/ice for the piedmont.

Not happening . All rain on CMC and Gfs at 00z. It’s time for some hot dogs on the grill.

  6. If this was a war all the weenies would be crushed and defeated by the Southeast ridge. Most would surrender but us weenies retreat and lay back until the next year and charge at the first Gfs run that shows snow. We will defeated at the battle of weinesburg but we will never give up.

Yep. And that makes the most sense in this pattern. CMC and Euro backing the energy in the SW and holding it into a consolidated system never made sense to me. These progressive slider systems are a pain to forecast and unless you get some last minute coastal development, are usually gone before they ever really arrived. We have scored on these occasionally, I think our only snow in 2020-21 winter came from a similar mode

It’s time to cliff dive my man. Winter is OVER. All weenies report to the cliff for a group dive. Man this winter killed me

We really need to just kill this winter with fire. It's not gonna happen. The flow is so progressive, cold air never has a chance to be established.  The only definite thing is tons of rain is coming. Especially GA and SC.

So true. Threading the needle doesn’t work very often in my neck of the woods. This will probably be a mid Atlantic storm but we got nothing else to watch. Sad

I'd be interested to see how far the storm at the end could push the boundary. For whatever it's worth it’s this 3rd through the 7th or so period that the ensembles are at least trying to signal some overunning fun. I know it's day 10 plus so what's the use, but I guess we've got to talk about something lol.

18z GFS says lights out for the piedmont with back to back ice storms

Yep. I saw that. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
